Photoshop is used for an incredible range of projects, from editing and correcting digital
photos to preparing images for magazines and newspapers to creating graphics for the
web. Adobe Photoshop is an image-editing program. It’s designed to help you edit
Overview/Introduction images—digital or digitized images, photographs, and otherwise. This is the core
purpose of Photoshop. Over the years, Photoshop has grown and developed, adding
features that supplement its basic operations. But at its heart, Photoshop is an image
editor.

Knowledge in principles and Elements of Design
Activities 1. Introduce to the participants a video of entitled “What Photoshop Can Do?”
2. Have the Participants answer several questions about Adobe Photoshop.
3. Show a Video about the Fundamentals of Design.
4. Introduce the Adobe Photoshop Working Interface
 Main Menu
 Tools
 Layers
 Characters
5. Demonstrate to the participants the following
 Create a new Photoshop Document
 PSD Dimension (Length and Width), Resolution, Color Mode and
Background Contents
 Inserting a Pictures and Shape
 Manipulate shape (Color and Gradient Overlays)
 Rasterizing and Slicing shapes
 Layer Order Concepts
 Inserting Text and Changing its fonts, size and color
6. Saving the PSD Document as JPEG or PNG.
7. Demonstrate another Brochure Design and ask the participants to submit their
output.
 Shape outline
 Shape Opacity
 Shape Stroke
8. Demonstrate another Brochure design and ask the participants to submit their
output.
 Clipping mask
 Blending options as overlay or multiply.

 It is very important that we need to learn on the fundamentals of design. It helps us


in many ways on how to make our design a better one.
 Why do we use Adobe Photoshop?
 Adobe Photoshop is super amazing tool for graphic designers to create, edit,
manipulate, modify image to take its looks at next level. There is no limitation
Abstraction for your imagination and bringing it into reality with Adobe Photoshop.
 Variety of Styles and Tools
 Adobe Photoshop is very useful application for editing photos in any flexible
form and desire.
 Photoshop is used by photographers, graphic designers, video game artists,
advertising and meme designers.
1. Show different 5 different brochure design and ask them to choose 2 among 5
Application samples that they will layout. Ask the participants to submit their output.
