1 Description of Function
1.1 B l o o d gas analyzers are used to measure blood gases, electrolytes, Ph values
and biochemical parameters of the blood. For a medium sized hospital exclusively
for Nephro-urology patients.

2 Operational Requirements
3.2 Calculated parameters should include Hemoglobin –cHgb, actual bicarbonate – cHCO2,
Total Carbon Dioxide – cTCO3, base excess of extra cellular fluid.- BE(ecf), base excess
in Blood -- BE(b), Oxygen Saturation – cSO2., etc
3.3 Sample volume-less than 100ul.
3.4 Fast analysis time – less than 60 sec
3.5 Maintenance-free cartridge/cassette based system eliminating requirement of gas tanks
and reagent bottles.
3.6 Different cartridge/ cassettes sample sizes capacity should be available. Should not be a
single use cartridge/cassette for each sample.
3.7 Fully automatic liquid calibration of all parameters at user-defined intervals without
the use of Gas calibrated reagents, external gases, tanks or regulators
3.8 The system should not have more than two consumables including all reagents for easy
and smooth operation of the instrument
3.9 Should have clot detection and clearance mechanism. Automatic sample mixing
preferred.
3.10 Should have sample port that accepts syringe and capillary sample
3.11 Continuous reagent level monitoring with graphic display.
3.12 Data display on well-illuminated, adequate size LCD color touch screen display.
3.13 Data print out on built in graphic printer.
3.14 Built in auto Quality control facility
3.16 Automatic result processing, test ordering and transmission to the LIS/HIS
system (laboratory Information System/Hospital Information ystem)
3.17 Automatic data archiving and customizable layout. Data backup with appropriate
drive/USB

4 System Configuration Accessories, spares and consumables

4.2 List of C o s t of reagents should be quoted for comparative evaluation.
4.4 Shelf life of the reagent / cartridges as applicable minimum 28 days and stored at room
temperature.
4.6 The Principal Manufacturer must have direct Presence/approved service center in
Bangalore
5 Environmental factors
8.4 Instrument verification on site after installation–IQ, OQ, PQ with documentation according
to ISO15189 to be done free of cost
8.4 L o g book with instruction for daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly maintenance
checklist. The job description of the hospital technician and company service engineer
should be clearly spelt out
8.5 C o m p l i a n c e Report to be submitted in a tabulated and point wise manner clearly
mentioning the page/para number of original catalogue/data sheet. Any point, if not
substantiated with authenticated catalogue/manual, will not be considered. Hence
authenticated copies of such catalogue / manual must be included along with the bid.
8.6 All Essential Spare parts / Consumables rates to be given separately which may be
freezed for next 10 Years.
8.7 Suppliers should have been in the market for at least 5 years and should have a
satisfied user base for Quoted equipment.
