Abstract
The project will be the first pumped storage project in Indonesia. It will be located at
about 150km southeast of Jakarta. An upper dam will be built at the upstream of Cirumanis
River, a tributary of the Cisokan River. It will be constructed as a roller compacted concrete
(RCC) dam, with a height of 75m and a 375m long crest. The lower dam is proposed to be
built at the Cisokan River, one of the major tributaries of the Citarum River. It will also be
constructed as a roller compacted concrete dam, with a height of 98m and a 294 long crest.
Each of the upper and lower dams will impound reservoirs of about 10 million cubic meters.

Sinotech associated itself in a joint venture with the international consulting firm
Hydrochina Corporation (Hydrochina, China), with the sub-consultant Parsons Brickerhoff (PB,
New Zealand). Local Indonesian consulting firms including PT. Hasfarm Dian Konsultan
(HDK), PT. Indra Karya (IK) will also participate in the project.
Sinotech will be responsible for the integration of all the service works for the project and
update of the existing detailed design as well as perform construction supervision of the
waterways, underground powerhouse, switchyard and miscellaneous civil works.
Hydrochina will be responsible for the update of detailed design and construction supervision
of the upper and lower RCC dams as well as update of detailed design and construction
supervision of the 500kV transmission line. PB will be responsible for the update of detailed
