AN ACT APPROPRIATING FIFTY THOUSAND PESOS TO DEFRAY THE EXPENSES OF A


STATE FUNERAL FOR MANUEL L. QUEZON AND FOR THE ERECTION OF A MAUSOLEUM
TO CONTAIN HIS REMAINS

WHEREAS, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, who died in the United States during
the war, dedicated his life and labors to the service of his country;

WHEREAS, arrangements have been made in Washington, D.C. to transfer his remains from the
United States to his native land, the Philippines; Now, therefore,

Section 1. The sum of fifty thousand pesos, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby
appropriated out of any funds in the Philippine Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to defray the
expenses of a state funeral for Manuel L. Quezon, the late President of the Philippines, and for the
erection of a temporary mausoleum to contain the remains of the great leader.

Section 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
