Quarter 2 - Module 4:
As a student who has gained confidence in self and the Lord, and is ready to
respond to issues and concerns, you must now step into the light.
This module contains compositions that will motivate you to take the steps that
will make a difference, - steps a leader must tread so that others may also see the
path into the light.
In charting the course of your journey in this module, you are expected to:
• make a connection of the message of the text to the world’s present
situation,
• write a journal entry; and
• design an action plan.
What’s In
Fill in the clouds below with your fears and doubts as you prepare yourself in taking
action in facing the issues and concerns in real life.

What’s New
Psalm 23
2
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's
sake.
4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for
thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest
my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in
the house of the LORD for ever.
1. What is a shepherd?
4. How do you see this phrase “valley of the shadow of death”? How do you feel
about it?
2
5.How does the speaker feel in verse 4? Why?
6. What does the Lord prepare in verse 5? In your home, what is usually on the
table?
7. What assurance does the speaker feel? Do you feel the same? Why?
What is it
The activities that you have done have something to do with you stepping into
the light, - with you doing the right thing.
The verses from Psalm 23 are rich in figurative language- language that has
a meaning beyond its literal sense. It may sound difficult at first but if you are going to
analyze it, you will appreciate the meaning as it unfolds. It may require imagination to
figure out its meaning. It is interpreted as a thought and not word for word.
Verse 5-6: God will bless us in abundance: more than what we need.
