Organization & Materials
Materials Needed DAILY: Suggested Organization:
Assigned textbook or novel I do not care what method of organization you use for your materials and
Pens or pencils assignments; however, I strongly suggest that you have a consistent method
College Ruled loose leaf paper you use this year. I personally like to have a three ring binger--I do not care if
Highlighters it is shared with other classes/subjects so long as it remains efficient and
Laptop or similar device organized.

Classroom Expectations
In Our Classroom: Basic Expectations:
We will spend class together all year. With that in mind, please adhere to the Be Prepared
expecatations of our classroom. I expect you to hold yourself and others Be Kind
accountable. Remember, not everyone will share your opinion and that is Be Thoughtful
okay. Be Intentional

Plagiarism & Cheating

As the handbook clearly states, any work submitted that is not your own is grounds for a zero. Parents and
administrators will be notified.
Examples of plagiarism and cheating:
Copying from another student's test, paper, report, or assignment, or allowing another student to copy from
you
Copying from or using a textbook or class notes during a closed-book exam
Using your phone during an assessment or when otherwise prohibited
Submitting material authored by another person with the intention of passing it off as your own
Submitting work that has been edited by others without permission of the instructor
Copying a passage of text directly from a book, journal, or the internet, etc. without indicating the source or
without using a recognized style for citing sources
Taking a test or writing a paper for another student. Completing another's homework.
Securing or supplying in advance a copy of an exam without the knowledge or consent of the instructor

Academic dishonesty, which includes plagiarism and cheating, is a very serious infraction. It will result in the work
receiving a zero and a notification to the student's parents and administrators. It also inevitably results in a lost of
trust. Generally, it is better to ask your instructor for help than it is to cut corners by cheating or plagiarizing.

Classroom Library
Any books in my classroom library are not assigned but read by student choice and can be returned at any time.
Students are encouraged to discuss independent book choices with their parents/guardians.
