MILITARING CIVILIANS IN SINGAPORE. WHAT CAN MALAYSIA LEARN FROM


THE NEIGHBOURING COUNTRY?

1. Introduction. The history of Singapore’s military develppment has essentially been


conducted before the separation from Malaysia in 1965. Singapore has a role during British
autonomy to secure Southeast Asia. Since Singapore went through a major transition over the
three decades of its existence as a sovereign state, its model covers growth at different stages
of development that are relevant to various countries at different levels of political and
economical advancement today. The harsh economical conditions that the people of
Singapore faced at independence from Malaysia can be attributed to the intense political
turmoil that had grappled the island’s relationship with the peninsula. The ambitions of
Singapore’s neighbors over it were evident in the policies Malaysia adopted towards it.

2. Aim. The aim of this paper is to explain on the Singapore’s military defence system,
historical improvement and political-economical relationships between Malaysia and
Singapore which leads to security development.

3. Scope. This paper discuss on military concepts developed by Singaporean in order to


defend their country, served by their own people. Malaysia will focus on some analysis to use
as a milestone for improvement in our security defence systems.

4. Body/Discussion/Arguments. This essay will discuss on civilians must have basic


security defence, which could be one of inner-security national defense, defending nation
from inside. Malaysia need to develop better improvement for safety, leading Singapore as
one of our idol in military defence. Singapore historical story from past decades could served
as influence in political and economical enhancement for our country. The aviation
development connected both countries in economic and security aspects, which lead to
multilayer agreement in defending national safety. However, how does Singapore’s military
development give impact on Malaysia?

5. Analysis. This study uses PESTLE analysis on providing national security through
inside and outside of country and the benefits or impacts of trained citizens towards the
nation.

6. Conclusion. This paper will conclude on military improvement on Malaysia based on


neighbouring country.

7. Recommendation. This paper will recommend on how to expand more knowledge


and experience of the involvement of civillians in peace and security and their role toward the
succesful of national development.
