Applications of

Computers in Modelling
and Communication
Computer simulations are
used to study the dynamic
behaviour of objects or
systems in response to
conditions that cannot be
easily or safely applied in real
life. Some aid in assessing or
visualising a phenomenon.
For example, a nuclear blast
can be described by a
mathematical model that
incorporates such variables as
heat, velocity, and radioactive
emissions.
Like flood, volcanic eruption
or even evolution of humans.
Computers used for
communication are one of the
greatest revolutions done by
humans.
Some types of
communications with the help
of computers are Voip or
voice over internet protocol,
emails, messages, calls, social
networking and many more…
Applications of
Computers in Banking
and Booking Systems
Banks use technology to carry
out payments effectively and
successfully. Computers help
bankers keep a record of and
verify financial records much
quicker.
It is very important that any
booking system prevents the
same item being booked twice
(double-booking).
● Store account details &
information Data.
● Perform the account
calculations.
● Communicate with the
other bank branches.
● Print the account
statements.
● Give receipts to the bank
customer.
● Scan and read the
customer passbook.
● Track the record of
customers.
● E-Banking
Computers are often used to
book (reserve) air flights,
seats in the cinema, rooms in
a hotel, tables in a restaurant,
etc.
A computer booking system is
a system whereby publicly
accessible computers can be
reserved for a period of time.
Applications of
Computers in Expert
Systems and Satellite
Systems
An expert system (ES) is a
knowledge-based system that
employs knowledge about its
application domain and uses
an inferencing (reason)
procedure to solve problems
that would otherwise require
human competence or
expertise.
A rule-based expert system is
a straightforward one where
knowledge is represented as a
set of rules.
Expert systems now have
commercial applications in
fields as diverse as medical
diagnosis, petroleum
engineering, and financial
investing.
The computers reliably
monitor and control various
subsystems on board of
satellites and launchers. They
prepare data for transmission
to Earth and execute
commands issued to the
satellite or launcher from the
ground.
Weather forecasting. Without
the help of satellites, we
cannot predict weather
● Radio and TV broadcast
satellites
● Military satellites
● Satellites for Navigation
● Global telephone
backbones
● Connections for remote or
developing areas
● Global mobile
communication
