Situation

You are travelling around Da Nang city. You meet a friend on a bus. Make
conversation with your friend about living in the city or in the country. You should
talk about:

- opinion about living in the city or in the country

- advantage and disadvantage of living in the city

- advantage and disadvantage of living in the country

Remember to use “possessive pronouns” and expressions of agreement and

disagreement.

Start and end conversation properly.

A: Hi B. Come and sit with me.

B: Hi A. Thank you very much.

A: Where are you going?

B: I'm going to study group. How about you?

A: I'm on my way to my friends to travel around Da Nang together.

B: Oh. Wish you have a nice trip. I really want to go around Da Nang but don't have time.

A: I see you are very busy. Spend some time hanging out when you can.

B: Of course. I will do that when I can.

A: Was your exercise difficult? I see you're a bit stressed.

B: It is an exercise in the advantages and disadvantages of living in the city and in the
countryside. I don't know how to start solving it. I worry too much.

A: You can try searching for information online. Or ask for the opinion of people around, for
example.

B: Thanks for the comment. Or can you help me out a bit?

A: Of course. I'm happy to help you.

B: Where do you like to live? I would love to have a simple life in the countryside

A: Is there anything in the countryside that makes you want to be there?

B: In the countryside there are benefits. The environment in the countryside is very clean
and cool here. There is just a little pollution.

A: I'm the opposite. I prefer the city.

B: Why is that?
A: Because I want to be here to get rich. Oh, my dream of becoming a billionaire /ˌbɪl.jəˈner/,
I don't know when it will come true.

B: Well wish you get rich soon

A: Just kidding. Back to the main topic. In my opinion, there are more and more commercial
centers or convenience stores in the city. You can easily shop for food anytime and
anywhere.

B: Hmm… According to both of you, there is a clear difference between city and country life.
Due to the impact of urbanization, there are more conveniences in the city. You can easily
get a part-time job with a high income because there are many big companies and
international companies based here.

A: Meanwhile in the countryside, unemployment occursa lot because there are no factories,
companies, or enterprises .With the development of science and technology, health and
education services will be more modern and more developed than in rural areas. Meanwhile,
the level of expertise and facilities in rural areas are inferior .

B: Oh, it's a feature in the city that there’s always traffic jam during rush hour.
There were a few times when I was almost late for school because of the traffic jam.

A: I see another obvious difference in the price. I find everything much cheaper in the
countryside.

B: That's right. Sometimes it is unaffordable for expenses in the city. Meanwhile, buying
items in the countryside is cheaper.

B: Ah A. You should be careful when going out at night. That's very dangerous.

A: Okay. I know

B: You should still be a little careful. Whether in the countryside or the city, criminals are very
active and dangerous. It's better to protect yourself.

A: Oh. I will pay more attention. You too.

B: For me, it's still a bit more convenient in the countryside. There are many clean and safe
foods. The quiet space and slow, low-stress pace of life in the countryside is also something
that makes many people excited. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery in the countryside to
relax after a stressful day at work.

A: I have to get off at this stop. See you soon

B: OK.Bye. With your help, I also have some ideas for my essay. When you have free time,
let's have a drink

A: OK. Bye
