IN SCIENCE 6
Manipulating Simple
Machine

I. RATIONALE:

Based on the assessment done last March 1-5, 2022 by the grade 6 science teacher, there are learners who did not perform well
and failed their activity/test in Science 6 lesson Manipulating Simple Machine, and so the teacher cope with an Intervention Program.

Grade 6 learners must improve their mastery of the lesson not only by learning but also by doing performance task and
comprehension. To do this, they are able to have remedial teaching and re-assessment from the intervention made by the grade 6
science teacher, which is appropriate to their level.

Factors the affects the Mastery of the lesson/performance of the learners.

1. Online Class – they do not have full attention/time to learn a given lesson and or topic.
2. Printed Learning Material – they are more interested/involved in face-to-face teaching and learning class.
3. Social Media– their attention is divided by visiting applications rather than studying the lesson.
4. Gadgets/Online Games – their attention is divided by using or playing it rather than studying the lesson.
5. Learning Environment – there are a lot of distractions in the surroundings that divide their attention when studying the lesson.

III. IMPLEMENTATION:

The teacher exerted time and effort to be able to help the learners to master the lesson, to improve comprehension skills/ performance
task in Manipulating Simple Machine. It was monitored by the Academic Coordinator to identify if there are progress in the learners`
performance and mastery of the lesson.

➢ Conducted a Remedial Teaching through Zoom meeting for Science grade 6.


➢ Monitored/checked the learners’ attendance and output in Zoom meeting and LMS/Schoology
➢ Published Learning Content at Schoology Grade 6 - LC: Manipulating Simple Machines

IV. RESULT:

Based on the intervention conducted by the teacher, there are 33 out of 35 pupils in grade 6 developed and improved their mastery and comprehension
skills in Manipulating Simple Machine.
This implies that the 2 weeks Intervention Program of the Grade VI Science Teacher of Old Fabrica Elementary School is effective to develop and
improve their mastery and comprehension in manipulating simple machine.
