What DOST-SEI Scholar-Graduate Should know

• SECURING CLEARANCE
A. SERVICE OBLIGATION
Immediately upon completion of the Bachelor of Science degree in the
priority S&T course, the scholar:
RA 7687/MERIT
• shall render service in the country on a full-time basis, preferably in the home region, and
along the field of specialization, for a minimum period equivalent to the length of time that
he/she enjoyed the scholarship.
• must be physically present in the country while rendering the service obligation.

• must teach full-time high school subject(s) in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, or
Physics, or Information Technology or Agricultural, Aquaculture or Fisheries technology,
both in the university and technical-vocational tracks in the secondary education in the
Philippines, for a minimum of two or three (2 or 3) years, in a public or private high school
in the country.

For RA 10612
• Scholars may be allowed to defer immediate rendition of
service obligation if the scholar will enroll in a review
class after graduation and take the licensure/board
examination in the field of expertise.

indicated in your certificate of employment.

Those who will opt to work abroad and has not served or
completed their service obligation in the country must refund
the total financial assistance they received as scholars or the
amount equivalent to the period unserved, in both cases, plus
12% interest.

Cash Bond To be posted with DOST-SEI for an amount equivalent to the financial
assistance received plus 12% interest.
For every payment of the cash bond, the scholar-graduate shall be issued
an official receipt (OR).
Reminder: Keep the original Official Receipt for the bond retrieval
upon return from travel.
