A. SERVICE OBLIGATION
Immediately upon completion of the Bachelor of Science degree in the
priority S&T course, the scholar:

• shall render service in the country on a full-time basis, preferably in the home region, and
along the field of specialization, for a minimum period equivalent to the length of time that
he/she enjoyed the scholarship.

• must be physically present in the country while rendering the service obligation.

A. SERVICE OBLIGATION
Immediately upon completion of the Bachelor of Science degree in the
priority S&T course, the scholar:

• must teach full-time high school subject(s) in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, or
Physics, or Information Technology or Agricultural, Aquaculture or Fisheries technology,
both in the university and technical-vocational tracks in the secondary education in the
Philippines, for a minimum of two or three (2 or 3) years, in a public or private high school
in the country.

Deferment of Rendition of Service Obligation

For RA 7687 and Merit


• Scholars may be allowed to defer immediate rendition of
service obligation if they would pursue further studies
(e.g. MS/PhD studies, Medicine, Law, etc.).

• Write a letter to SEI re-deferment and attach proof of


reason cited
(e.g. acceptance in graduate school).

Deferment of Rendition of Service Obligation

For RA 10612
• Scholars may be allowed to defer immediate rendition of
service obligation if the scholar will enroll in a review
class after graduation and take the licensure/board
examination in the field of expertise.

• Write SEI a letter for endorsement to DepEd. Indicate the


schedule of the licensure/board examination.
A. SERVICE OBLIGATION

1. At the end of each fiscal year, you must submit to


SEI a report on your employment status.

2. Secure a service record or certificate of


employment for every job that you have.

3. When you have completed your service


obligation, submit to SEI your service record
and/or certificate of employment to secure a final
clearance from the scholarship program.

4. If you do a part-time job, make sure that the number of hours served is
indicated in your certificate of employment.
B. REFUND OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

B. REFUND OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Those who will opt to work abroad and has not served or
completed their service obligation in the country must refund
the total financial assistance they received as scholars or the
amount equivalent to the period unserved, in both cases, plus
12% interest.
C. SECURING CLEARANCE

• scholars who shall travel out of the country while still


under the scholarship or with service or financial
obligation may be issued temporary clearance upon
submission of the required documents and/or posting a
bond.

OPTIONS
Cash Bond To be posted with DOST-SEI for an amount equivalent to the financial
assistance received plus 12% interest.
For every payment of the cash bond, the scholar-graduate shall be issued
an official receipt (OR).

Upon return of the scholar-graduate to the Philippines, he/she shall


reimburse the total amount of the cash bond posted upon submission to
SEI of the ORs and photocopy of pertinent pages of his/her passport

Reminder: Keep the original Official Receipt for the bond retrieval
upon return from travel.
C. SECURING CLEARANCE

OPTIONS
Cash Bond To be posted with DOST-SEI for an amount equivalent to the financial
assistance received plus 12% interest.
For every payment of the cash bond, the scholar-graduate shall be issued
an official receipt (OR).

OPTIONS
Cash Bond May be posted in full amount or on installment over a period of 1 year.
Installment Mode 1: Down payment of 50% of the total amount
Installment Mode 2: Down payment of 25% of the total amount

The scholar-graduate and a co-maker must execute a Supplemental


Agreement and the latter shall be held liable to settle the remaining
amount in case the former fails to pay the instalments.

Temporary clearance will be released after you have made a down


payment and the rest of the amount may be posted in equal amounts
within one year.
