SECTION 1 Langeskov Steel Service Center is capable of handling delicate surfaces in addition to common
steel, meaning we can slit and cut stainless steel, aluminium, pre-painted steel and tin-plate,
Steel Service Center – LANGESKOV etc. We can then also apply film and insert paper between the sheets.

This document also contains some helpful information on the most common material
properties: out-of-squareness, camber and deviation from flatness compared to the tolerances
specified in European Standards (ENs) and what we are capable of controlling.
SECTION 2 Finding out what the different grade specifications for steel are can be a difficult task, so to

Deviation from Flatness Deviation from flatness for cold-rolled stainless materials
Standard EN 9445 (stainless steel) defines deviation from flatness in two different ways.

between the sheet and the horizontal surface on which it is placed.

DS/EN 10131 (cold-rolled) and DS/EN 10143 (galvanised) See the example below.
The edge camber shall not exceed 6 mm over a length of 2,000 mm and a slit wide strip of width ≥
600 mm. For lengths of less than 2,000 mm, the edge camber shall not exceed 0.3% of the actual

EN 10051 A1 (hot-rolled)
The edge camber shall not exceed 0.5% of the actual length of the sheet for a nominal length of
< 5,000 mm. For sheet with a nominal length of ≥ 5,000 mm and width of ≥ 600 mm, the edge
camber shall not exceed 20 mm for any length of 5,000 mm in the case of sheet with mill edges
and 15 mm in the case of sheet with trimmed edges.

Steel Grades
Steel names
In addition to the standard names for different types of steel, many steelworks also use their own
codes, especially in the case of cold-rolled or high strength steels. This could be because there is
no official standard for the steel grade developed at that steelworks, or alternatively because the
steelworks wishes to profile its own materials.
We have exclusively used the current European Standards (ENs) regarding the mechanical properties
of the steel to name the products.
We constantly monitor the entire production process to ensure the order complies with the customer-specific
standards. It is possible to interrupt production and contact the customer. Informing Ib Andresen Industri
in advance regarding diviations in the basic material can help reduce additional costs. If the fault is due to
defective materials, we can put together a deficiency report describing the issue.
One of our overriding targets is to provide the highest-quality product to satisfy our customers’ requirements
and expectations. We will therefore always ask you to inform us of your ideal specifications as accurately
and completely as possible, and are happy to help you with this if needed. It is our aim to meet your
requirements and expectations to ensure co-operation that will benefit both parties.
