Warm up: “Just a minute” Teacher selects a topic (weather, traffic, etc) and have students brainstorm related vocabulary (5mins)

Presentation (20 mins):

 Teacher introduces “ice-breaking” questions and elicits students’ responses, focusing on questions forms.
 Listening comprehension exercises provide vocabulary to build upon.
 Then teacher explains questions structures (subject-verb inversion/do insertions)

Practice (20):

 Students will change statements to questions

 Identify what the question word refers to
 Match questions and answers
 Discuss and evaluate advice about first encounters

Production (15):

 Students will prepare questions to ask each other about work, travel, food, acquaintances, studies, hobbies and interests.

 Teacher introduces the question “What do you do?” then models/describes his job(s) position and duties. Explain the
difference between job and work and presents different types of jobs.

Practice (10 mins):

 Students identify and correct mistakes in a job description.

 Gap fill exercise focused on prepositions to accurate address work collocations
 Students re-write job descriptions to integrate new vocabulary

Production (10):

 Students compose a detailed description of the post, including responsibilities, schedule and routine
