ACTIVITY 3: GEODESY
Instructions:
1. Review all your lessons and answer the following problems with clear and precise solutions.
2. Avoid plagiarizing the work of your classmates. If it is found that your solution is copied from your classmate exactly, you and
your classmate will be rated No Point in the said item.
3. Use your student number to solve the values of a, b, c, d, and e in the given problems. Note, for a sample student #:
2003-12345: a=1, b=2, c=3, d=4, and e=5.
4. Submit your answers on or before November 13, 2021 on the google classroom.
1. The carried azimuth of a line whose Grid (PTM) azimuth at a given station is 164°47’49”+e”. An astronomical azimuth observed
for the same line is 165°00’41”+a”. Assume no error in the astronomical observation.
Station Longitude: 121°47’44”
Station Latitude: 13°38’16”
a) What is the Central Meridian to be used?
b) Compute the convergency correction.
c) Compute the corrected astronomical azimuth.
d) Compute the error in the carried azimuth.
2. A C130 left Villamor Airbase, Philippines (121°01’02.16”+d” E, 14°30’42.07”+e” N) at 4pm local time and arrived at Changi
Airport, Singapore (103°59’29.61”E, 01°21’51.72”N) at 4:30pm local time.
