 Good Morning/ Afternoon everyone, I am Diomedes Colar, I will be presenting my action

research entitled “Enhancing Grammar Competence of Grade 10 Learners through the use
of the offline educational resources”.
 The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of offline educational resources in grammar
competence of grade 10 learner.
- Grammar is a very important language component that should be mastered by the
learners. This is because grammar has the roles in all language skills (reading, writing,
speaking and listening).
- the Results of an online Standard English Test (SET) revealed a declining trend in the
English language skills of Filipinos (Education First, 2019). Which is immensely
observed inside the classroom of Deped, for an instance in my English 10 class, most of
my students faced fear in English where they found difficulties in constructing sentences
and even in speaking the language. This was observed from their low performances
during their writing and speaking assessment.
- What is the solution to this problem?
-Deped launched its Digital Rise Program, which acquaints and trains teachers
on the use and curation of open educational resources (OER).
- OER offers teachers a wide array of learning resources which they can
customize to their classes. This study looked into the effectiveness of offline
educational resources in enhancing the grammatical competence of Grade 10
Bonifacio learners in English in Tiep National High School during school year 2021-
2022.

Specifically, it sought to answer the following sub-problems:

- Is there a significant relationship between the level of performance of the Grade 10
learners in English before and after the use of offline educational resources?
- What is the level of performance of the Grade 10 learners in English before the use of
offline educational resources?
- What is the level of performance of the Grade 10 learners in English after the use of offline
educational resources?

 The researcher used the quantitative (quasi-experimental) research and used pretest
and posttest design to see the difference of the test scores.

 In conclusion:
- The level of performance of the Grade 10 learners in English was low during the pretest.
- The level of performance in English of the Grade 10 learners during the post test was
higher in comparison to their performance in the pretest.
- There is a significant difference in the level of performance of the Grade 10 learners in
English before and after using offline educational resources.
- Offline educational resources could help the Grade 10 learners enhance their grammar
competence.
