June 27th
Book: Mimi’s Wheel 1
Warm-up:
I will ask them to stand up and sing “Hello song”.
Time: 5 minutes.
Controlled-practice I
Step 1: I will stick the flashcards on the board and I will ask them to say the words.
Time: 5 minutes.
step 2: I will give them a piece of paper and I will ask them to cut ears, eyes, mouth and nose.
Time: 10 minutes.
Step 3: then, I will ask them to stick them on the face.
Time: 10 minutes.
Presentation I
Step 1: I will teach them two new parts of the face: teeth and hair by showing them pictures from Navio app. I will ask
them to listen the new words.
Time: 5 minutes.
Step 2: I will show them again and I will ask them to repeat all the words.
Time: 5 minutes.
Step 3: I will show them flashcards and I will ask them to say the words.
Time: 5 minutes.
Controlled-practice II
Step 1: I will ask them to play a game on the TV. I will ask them to listen and match the parts of the face.
Time: 5 minutes.
Controlled-practice III
Step 1: I will ask them to open their books on page 22 and I will ask them to listen and point to the parts of the face.
Time: 5 minutes.
Controlled-practice IV
Step 2: I will ask them to open the magazines and cut hair and teeth and stick them on their notebooks and write their
names.
Time: 15 minutes.
Presentation II
Step 1: I will hold up the flashcards in turn and I will point my own facial features and I will say, “I’ve got hair”.
Time: 5 minutes.
Step 2: I will do the same and I will ask them to repeat and point to their own facial features and repeat the sentences.
Time: 10 minutes.
Step 3: I will point to the flashcards in turn and they will have to respond by touching their own facial gestures and
saying “I’ve got two ears”.
Time: 10 minutes.
Controlled-practice V
Step 1: Sentence Chain! I will put down one of the flashcards and I will say, “I’ve got…” and touch that part of the
face. I will ask them to repeat the sentence and do the same. I will do the same with all the parts of the face.
Time: 10 minutes.
Step 2: Then, I will lay out the flashcards face up on the floor in order of the song and I will ask them to sit in a round
and I will play the song (Track 2:04) and they will have to point to the flashcards with me as they hear them in the
song.
Time: 15 minutes.
Step 3: I will play it again and they will have to stand up and point to their own facial features.
Time: 5 minutes.
Controlled-practice VI
Step 1: I will ask them to open their books and listen and find the parts of the face (Track 2:03).
Time: 5 minutes.
Controlled-practice VII
Step 1: I will hold up the book and I will demonstrate matching the pictures of the hair and mouth of Sophie and
Tom’s faces in the photo. I will ask them to match them.
Time: 5 minutes.
Step 2: I will play the track again (4) and I will ask them point to the parts of the face.
Time: 5 minutes.
