CRITERIA: 1. create at least 5 suitable statements for the quiz.
2. transfer at least 5 information from the table into statement forms
SET Pupils refer to textbook page 32 and look at the Vocabulary section. Pupils go through the words
INDUCTION and share their experience with any of the words.
ACTIVITY 1. Pupils read through the ‘Facts about Egypt and Present.
2. Pupils copy the sentences into their exercise books. Pupils write the sentences into a table and
write ‘PAST’ or ‘PRESENT’ beside the sentences.
3. CD 1 Track 47 is played. Pupils listen and compare their answers.
PLENARY Pupils play the ‘Do as I say’ game where pupils form circles. Each pupil comes to the middle and
says a sentence using past tense. Other pupils standing in the circle must mime what the person
in the has said.

did he go with? When did he go on a trip? What was the weather like? What did they do there?
Did he take a lot of photos?
3. Get pupils to focus on Writing Tips in textbook page 33. Pupils are given an Email Task Sheet to
complete in groups.
4. Pupils discuss about their past holiday. Pupils can be brought to the Computer Room to actually
type an email or write the email in their exercise books. Pupils write or type their own emails.
PLENARY Pupils exchange books and let their friends read their email.

PLENARY Pupils conduct the Freeze Dance. One pupil is randomly selected each round to be in front. The
rest of the class dances freely while music is played. They’ll pose with one action representing a
sport or a daily routine. The chosen pupil guesses at least 3 actions. And, the round starts again.

PLENARY Pupils conduct the Freeze Dance. One pupil is randomly selected each round to be in front. The
rest of the class dances freely while music is played. They’ll pose with one action representing a
sport or a daily routine. The chosen pupil guesses at least 3 actions. And, the round starts again.

INDUCTION
ACTIVITY 1. Pupils refer to textbook page 33. Pupils read the email while CD 1 Track 49 is played for pupils.
2. Some comprehension questions are asked from the Teacher’s Book. Where did Kevin go? Who
did he go with? When did he go on a trip? What was the weather like? What did they do there?
Did he take a lot of photos?
3. Get pupils to focus on Writing Tips in textbook page 33. Pupils are given an Email Task Sheet to
complete in groups.
4. Pupils discuss about their past holiday. Pupils can be brought to the Computer Room to actually
type an email or write the email in their exercise books. Pupils write or type their own emails.
PLENARY Pupils exchange books and let their friends read their email.
