Certain programs presented require significant physical exertion and stamina. Persons with heart, respiratory, or other physical conditions that may be aggravated by this type of exertion, or that may hinder their participation should not participate in said programs. Please consult your physician regarding your participation, or the Fire Service Training Bureau concerning physical requirements of a particular course. Health/Fitness forms, which must be completed by each participant, will be included with the acceptance letters.

Cancellation Policy
Registrations cancelled in writing before February 21, 2011 will receive a full refund. After that date, a $20.00 cancellation fee will be assessed. Substitutions may be made at any time.

Ice Rescue
This course provides training in the fundamental, practical skills needed to perform safe and successful ice rescues. The classroom portion includes: elements of ice rescue; ice; victims condition; staffing and equipment; and the operational plan. The field work consists of practicing rescue techniques on the ice/water. The content will meet NFPA 1006 and NFPA 1670 requirements.
Ice Rescue PPE Provided Optional Equipment: Dry Suit or Cold Immersion Suit, USCG Type III or V approved lifejacket/PFD, lightweight water or climbing helmet, water booties if not part of Dry Suit.

This course will take an in-depth look at Agricultural trauma including injuries from tractor roll-over and combine rescue. Students will receive 4 hours of classroom programming followed by 8 hours of hands-on evolutions. The hands on portion of the program will deal with trauma patient care, cribbing, extrication tools. Students will perform several evolutions in patient extrication.
PPE Required: Helmet, Protective Hood, Coat with liner, Pants with liner, Fire Fighting Boots, Gloves, and Safety Glasses or Goggles.
This workshop will focus on rescue from these large over-the-road trucks when they become involved in an accident. Topics include truck/trailer construction, air brake systems, vehicle stabilization, extrication equipment, patient removal, and techniques and tools uncommon to other vehicle rescue situations. This course will provide students with hands-on experience with techniques to use when these large over-the-road trucks are involved in an accident. The content will meet NFPA 1006 and NFPA 1670 requirements.
PPE Required: Helmet, Protective Hood, Coat with liner, Pants with liner (or Extrication Turnouts), Fire Fighting Boots, Gloves, and Safety Glasses or Goggles.

Trench Rescue
This course will give responders hands-on training on trench rescue procedures and the content will adhere to NFPA 1006 and NFPA 1670. The purpose of this course is to explain basic strategies to safeguard responders health and safety when dealing with potential dangers associated with trench collapse emergencies. Individuals will gain basic knowledge in trench procedures, new equipment, trench hazards, and proper patient packaging. This course allows responders to work together to understand the patients needs. Remember we are there for the well being of our customer, the patient.
PPE Required: Helmet, Leather Gloves, Safety Glasses or Goggles, and Footwear that provides ankle support. Coveralls are optional.

______ Advanced Fire Ground Search & Rescue ______ Motorsports Fire & Rescue
This course provides information and skills necessary to perform rescues utilizing ropes. Tower rescue will be incorporated this year. Topics include size-up and scene management, knots, equipment, anchors, ascending/descending techniques, and mechanical advantages. Students will participate in rescue evolutions under supervision of the instructors. The content will meet NFPA 1006 and NFPA 1670 requirements.
PPE Required: Helmet, Leather Gloves, Safety Glasses or Goggles, and Footwear that provides ankle support. Coveralls are optional.
This class will cover the following aspects of fire ground forcible entry, search of private dwellings, room orientation, vent enter search, commercial search, large area search, RIT search, and thermal imaging camera techniques and tactics for search operations. Students practice positions, duties on the line, using tools and selecting equipment. RIT responsibilities are highlighted and various carries, drags and removal techniques are practiced. Rope Assisted Search Procedures (RASP) may also be presented.
Protective Clothing Required: Participants must furnish approved helmet, turnout gear, eye protection, gloves, SCBA with spare cylinder and boots for this class.

This class will develop and enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the motorsports workers to safely react and mitigate the emergency incident while reducing and/or preventing injury, loss of life, and property. This class will cover track operations, fire suppression and extrication techniques unique to the racing environment, and patient care. This course will provide students with hand-on experience with techniques to use when motorsports vehicles are involved in an accident. Different models of motorsport vehicles will be available as well as props for the hands-on portion. The content will meet NFPA 610 requirements.
Protective Clothing Required: Participants must furnish approved helmet, turnout gear, eye protection, gloves, and boots for this class.
