Y
Noong unang panahon, ang Barangay Basud ay
isa sa pinakamalawak na lugar sa katimugan ng población
ng Tabaco. Kakaunti pa lamang ang mga naninirahan dito
ngunit sagana sa mga punongkahoy. Sa gawing timog nito
ay makikita ang ilog Tagas na malawak, napakalinis at
punong puno ng isda. Dito nangingisda ang mga
kalalakihan. Ang iba’y nagsasaka, ang iba naman ay
nagtatanim. Maligayang naninirahan ang mga mamamayan
dahil sa kasaganaan.

Noong taon 1915 sa bayan ng Tabaco ay

dinaanan ng napakalakas na bagyo. Dahil sa sobrang lakas
ng hangin ang mga kakahuyan ay nasira. Natakot ang mga
mamamayan at nagsilikas. Lahat ng mga pananim at
punong kahoy ay natumba at nabuhal, natanggal ang balat
ng mga punong kahoy. Kung kaya’t namuti ang mga ito. Ito
ang dahilan kung bakit ang bagyo ay tinawag na bagyong
Ogis o bagyong Puti. Dahil sa sobrang agos ng ilog sa
lugar, natambak ang mga buhangin at dito sa población
kasama na ang mga karatig pook natatabunan ang mga
pananim at punong kahoy at ang mga bahay ng buhangin.

Nakalipas ang ilang taon, unti-unting dumami ang

nanirahan na ulit sa lugar na ito. Patuloy sa pagdami ng
mga tao hanggang sa ito’y naging isang baryo. Dahil sa
punong-puno ng buhangin ang baryo na ito ay tinawag na
Binasudan. Di naglaon sa pagbabagong panahon naging
Basud at ngayon nga’y tinawag itong “Barangay Basud.”
 II.
SITUATIONAL
ANALYSIS
BARANGAY BASUD is one of the población barangay of Tabaco

City and is situated along the central area of the City Proper, about 50

meters away from the Central Market. It has a total land area of

approximately 15 hectares. Barangay Basud is situated at approximately

13.3550, 123.7283, in the island of Luzon. Elevation at these coordinates is

estimated at 13.1 meters or 43.0 feet above mean sea level. Surrounded

by Brgy. Cobo on the north, Brgy. San Juan on south, Brgy. Baranghawon

on the West and Barangay Divino Rostro on the east Since the barangay is

situated at the heart of the City Proper, the growth of plants and trees is

scarce and crowded houses are very much apparent. Composed of 746

households and 845 families main sources of income (labor force –

68.06%) are, the transport sector, small and medium enterprises, vending,

and public and private employment. 2022 Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA)

share of Php. 4,019,799.30, which has been properly and justifiably

allocated to mandated expenditures and other operating expenses in the

barangay including projects, programs, and activities intended for the

vulnerable sector (16.25%), education (61.29% of school-age attending

school), and even for the 0.25% unemployed.

A. VISION

To improve the standard of living of our community,

promote peace and order, and maintain the cleanliness
of the barangay.

B. MISSION

Foster cooperation of all Barangay together with all

the members of the community to attain the vision.

C. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

GOALS

* To attain effective and efficient delivery of basic social services.

* To develop Barangay Basud as a peaceful and cleaner barangay.

* To pursue sustainable environmental management.

* To have well-established, sustainable, and appropriate infrastructure

facilities.

OBJECTIVES

Based on the above-mentioned vision, objectives were formulated in

order to strengthen efforts toward the sustainable development of the
barangay. The following objectives are anticipated to be achieved over
the next ten years with the joint efforts of the GO’s, NGO’s and the
private sectors.
