INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL
For II & III Year Business & Commerce Students
July 3-16, 2022
The University of Cincinnati (UC) International
Summer Program is designed to provide international
students an intensive and short-term educational
program specifically tailored to meet the needs of a
cohort of students developed in cooperation between
UC International and an institution of higher education
from overseas.
The curriculum will consist of classroom instruction,
laboratory work, and/or American cultural
enrichment activities. Total hours of instruction will be
at least 18 hours per week.
Participants will select 1 program track from the
following:
TRACK 1: Block Chain Technology
The introduction of bitcoin sparked a revolution
towards a decentralized, digital economy. One of the
fundamental elements of cryptocurrencies like bitcoin
is the block chain - an immutable, digital ledger of
transactions that records not only financial
transactions, but anything of value.
Discussion on digital currencies, digital asset
valuation, decentralized finance applications, and non-
fungible tokens (NFTs). Summer School will also
explore distributed data structures and computing
architecture and present a framework to analyze
smart contract capabilities and platforms. We will also
analyze the future direction, opportunities, risks and
challenges of block chain technology.
TRACK 2: Technology Entrepreneurship Boot
camp
The greater Cincinnati area is on the forefront of
becoming a global economic leader around the areas of
supply chain, logistics and sustainability. Summer
School will introduce you to these sectors, introduce to
you the regional business leaders making it happen
and challenge you to identify and create your own
venture. Using robotics as the foundation of your
venture technology, participants will create a business
model and pitch their concept in front of regional
leaders for feedback.
Eligibility Criteria – Summer School
 An overall aggregate of CGPA 3.5 or higher
 Must be a CHRIST undergraduate student currently
enrolled in classes
 Must have completed one year in CHRIST
 English proficiency: IELTS 6.0 or higher
 Complete the application form and get approval
from your department HoD/Coordinator
 Demonstrate your ability to support your stay
overseas through a financial plan
 Satisfy host institution and country entry
requirements
 Be a good ambassador for the CHRIST (Deemed to
be University)
Cost: $2300
includes housing, most meals, academic instruction,
cultural activities, company visits, and certificate of
completion.
Cultural activities may include: Cincinnati Reds
baseball game, downtown city tour, viewing
Independence Day fireworks, welcome and farewell
dinner.
Additional out of pocket expenses: International
airfare, $350 SEVIS fee, $180 US visa fee, international
health insurance.
Visa
Student’s responsibility. However, Office of
International Affairs will assist in procurement of visa.
