INTERNATIONAL YEAR ZERO

BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT BA (HONS) WITH INTERNATIONAL INCORPORATED BACHELOR

DE MONTFORT UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE, LEICESTER

My name is Farhan Javed. I have completed my secondary school from Jammu Kashmir Public Secondary
School Dhangroat Kotli AJK in 2019 and Higher Secondary from Stars Higher Secondary School Kotli AJK in
2021. Ever since my higher school year, I have really been keen to study business and management. After
completing my higher secondary education, I rigorously felt the need of gaining some hands-on experience
to get a more holistic view of business development. I got an opportunity to work as admin assistant in
Information technology skill development center, Kotli Azad Kashmir. During my work I have developed
interest to study the business development and marketing strategies. Later on, this enthusiasm triggered
my passion to study business and management. To do so, I would like to enroll in International Year Zero
Business and Management BA (Hons) with International Incorporated Bachelor at the DE MONTFORT
University International College Leicester.

After detail research over internet, I decided to pursue my studies in United Kingdom due to fact
that the UK higher education is valued all over the world for its renowned standards. The degree obtained
from the well reputed British universities are widely recognized around the world. I get motivated to get
higher education from UK because British universities have superior educational standards as compared to
Pakistan. Due to above mention factors, British universities are not only attractive to Pakistani students, but
they are more successful to attract students from all over the world and provides a testing ground for
diversity management. The idea of today's modern world greatly relies on global interactions between
people of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. In Pakistan, the banking industry offers a variety of
exciting career opportunities. I will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the banking and finance
industry while maintaining a global perspective with this degree.

As an international student I consider three major factors before making a choice for the Universities in UK,
the quality of education, English as first language and affordability. According to student reviews through
the Times higher education, the DE MONTFORT University International College Leicester is ranked among
the top 601 in the world university ranking and an overall 4.1 stars. DE MONTFORT University was awarded
Gold in 2017 through teaching excellence framework. The students have opportunity to get high quality
education, meet internationally recognized researchers and business leaders. In addition to previously
mentioned reasons to choose this university are, it is recognized as one of the best British universities
specialized in management and business programs.

To make a perfect start and align with the DE MONTFORT University education system, I will take
International Year Zero. This international Year Zero has number of core compulsory modules and subject
modules. The compulsory modules are important to familiarize yourself with DE MONTFORT University,
information technology services and numeracy, enhancing communication, and academic writing skills. It
also includes several subject-specific modules such as business function, essential introduction to
according, business economics in context, understanding management, Government and society, and
introduction to legal principle and systems. Furthermore, Business and Management BA (Hons)
programmed at the DE MORTFORT university Leicester Campus. I researched this degree in order to
achieve my intended goal and discovered that it will provide me with a comprehensive understanding of
the business and management industry on a global scale. I hope to be able to effectively deal with
operational challenges and develop contingency plans to reduce business risks. This course will teach me
how to analyze financial strategies and provide me with a framework for carrying out ethical business
practices. The first-year modules contain academic and professional practice, financial decision making,
global business issues, work and organizations, principles of marketing, accounting, business law, and
quantitative methods. All these modules were created with the needs of the industry in mind. These
courses will instill ethical business practices as well as reduce financial transaction and investment risks. I'll
gain a critical understanding of the modern industries and potential challenges they are facing, as well as
the benefits and limitations of research. In addition, I'll work on interpreting and collecting economic data,
financial statements, and financial projections.

My very personal concern is to focus on the sustainability of today’s companies. In my opinion it is as

important as it has never been before to support local businesses and to use globalization to connect
people to work together. Every single human being takes major responsibility about planet earth and its
people and I am dreaming of one day being in a powerful position where I can change things, such as
improving the use of regenerative resources and therefore take part in making the world a better place for
our future generations.

Not only that the program will teach me how international markets work and how to responsibly manage a
company but it also offers the great opportunity take part in Business and Management BA (Hons) with
International Incorporated Bachelor which is very attractive and unique to me. I want to learn as much as
possible about other countries and cultures on an economic level to be able to represent and work for a
company global.

As one of Europe’s best Business Schools I think De Montfort University International College will be the
perfect place for me to have all the opportunities I need to develop those leadership-skills on an
international level that I will need to follow my goals and not to lose track of them.

I hope that I could express my great personal motivation to study “International Business” as a Bachelor
