    The small village of Glamis in Angus,
    wasn't a thaneship in the period of

    giving Macbeth the title of the "Thane
    of Glamis", was out of context .

    In the 11th century, Scotland was a
    separate country, and although the
    play takes place at the castle during
    such time, the current castle was only
    built around the 14th - 15th century,
    hundreds of years after Duncan's
    actual reign.
