Introduction

The outbreak of COVID-19 increased the demand of online selling here in the Philippines. Due to the
widespread of lockdowns, it made some of the establishment go out of business, because of it some of
the employees we’re laid off by their employer. That’s why selling of clothes, food etc. was relevant
amidst the pandemic. One of the contributing factors to e-commerce growth is the rising middle class,
high consumer spending, and a young, tech-savvy population.

You might be wondering what it means when someone says they're going thrifting. Simply
described, thrifting is shopping at a thrift store, garage sale, or flea market for gently used
products at a discount. Outhrift.Repeater is a business that uses the online platform to sell
products. The business sells used clothes or as we all know, thrifted products. Owner of the
business goes around the city looking for thrift shops that has good items to thrift. Then after
thrifting, the owner posts it online to sell. But, there are problems that the business is facing for
the fact that it is an online business and most of the people online are passive just passive
customers.

I. Problem

Here are some of the problems or issues that the business is having:

1. The business gets shadow-banned

- Sometimes the business gets blocked without the owner knowing making the post not
visible to customers and this has a huge impact because online selling must be viewed by
customers.
2. Competitors
- Other shops that sells the same kind of product the business sells, is also a huge issue.
And due to this, the business will have a small number of customers and profit to be
earned.
3. Promotion
- The business often has low profit because of lacking knowledge in promoting its product.
4. Product does not suit the customers taste
- Sometimes this is the problem that the owner faces. The business might have a lot of
stock around but sometimes it doesn’t suit the customers taste making the business have
low profit and not recover from the expenses was used.

II. Proof of the problem exist

In order for the business to have customers, the owner will post teasers in exchange for
follows for the business. According to the owner, roughly only 10% of the 1000 followers
view the said promotion giving the business a bad customer percentage. 10% is very low for
a business that has 1000 followers because usually with those numbers other businesses gets
more views and more interactions with their followers. And because of this, due to low views
in the promotion the business page sometimes gets shadow-banned.
