Important
• The only I/O modules that can be assigned here are those supporting the signal
types used by eCUBE.
• In cases where two or more FCN I/O units are to be used, the SB bus repeat
module is installed in slot 10. (If redundant SB buses are used, a module is also
installed in slot 9.) These slot assignments should be considered in making I/O
module assignments.
Select the slot to be defined in the I/O Module Settings window and click the [I/O
Channel Tag Assignment] button to display the following window.
If there are settings which apply to all of the selected I/O modules, setting fields will
appear in the I/O Module area in the upper left part of the window.
The number of channels that can be defined for the selected I/O module is displayed in
the “Channel List” area. Only the input channels (which are used by eCUBE) are
shown, even if the I/O module has output channels.
The “Tag List” area shows the tags matching the displayed I/O module model number,
among the tags defined in Analog Tag Settings, Pulse Tag Settings, and Discrete Tag
Settings.
Important
The I/O Channel Tag Assignment window only shows tags and enables channel
assignments for tags that have been completely input and defined in the tag settings
(Analog Tag Settings, Pulse Tag Settings, and Discrete Tag Settings).
Input procedure
1. Select common settings for all I/O module channels. (This may not be necessary,
depending on which I/O module is selected.)
2. In the “Tag List” area, click the tag you want to assign to select it.
3. In the “Channel List” area, click the channel you want to assign to select it.
4. Click the [← Select] button. The tag is assigned to the channel.
If [Insert] is checked when the [← Select] button is clicked, a tag can be inserted.
To delete a tag, click the tag in the “Channel List” area, then click the [Delete] button.
The tag is deleted.
These parameters are the same as the parameters set in Resource Configurator. It
allows you to set the parameters only when you select a module to which setting is
required.

Select a PLC on the Startup Window, then click [PLC Settings] to display the PLC
Settings window.
“Abnormality Monitoring Timer” is a timer that allows an eCUBE Unit to monitor for
responses from a PLC. An error event is output if a response is not received within the
set time period. The time setting should be sufficiently longer than the data update
request interval. The initial setting of approximately 30 seconds is recommended.
“Data Update Request” is a setting for the interval at which the eCUBE Unit requests the
PLC to send data.
“Data Request Interval 1” for analog and discrete use is the request interval setting for
the first group (a group in which the count is limited for high-speed communication).
"Data Request Interval 2" (*) is the request interval setting for the second group (for low-
speed communication; for all communication other than the first group).
If the communication PLC type is “SYSMAC RS-232-C” or "Modbus RTU master RS",
then there is no data update request interval setting. (This communication type, which
relies on RS-232-C communication, is designed to send the next data request as soon
as data is received.)
The settings for “IP Address” and “CPU No”, should match the FA-M3 settings.
For “Time-out”, normally the initial setting should be left unchanged as this is a timer
value to monitor for responses in task processing inside the eCUBE Unit.
The following devices are read based on the Communication Address Settings in the
example shown above.
• Analog: 128 word devices (D1000 to D1127)
• Pulse: 32 word devices (D2000 to D2031)
• Discrete: 128 bit devices (I1000 to I1127)
*1: The readable address range varies depending on the PLC model.
*2: If zero is set, the reading of data is not performed.
The settings for “Baud Rate”, “Data Bit”, “Stop Bit”, and “Parity” should match the
SYSMAC settings. For “COM Port No”, select the port used by the eCUBE Unit. (FCN
has COM1 only.)
For “Time-out”, normally the initial setting should be left unchanged as this is a timer
value to monitor for responses in task processing inside the eCUBE Unit.
The following devices are read based on the Communication Address Settings in the
example shown above.
• Analog: Data memory, 128 word devices, 1000 to 1127
