This quote must have been the most popular phrase used by both the Filipinos and tourists that had experienced visiting the
country. It is known for abundance of beautiful beaches and festive vibes where tourists usually came to the country to experience the
fiestas. The strength and beauty of the country is blessed by the mother nature and most known internationally for its pristine beaches
like Boracay. Not only that, Philippines is also known for hospitable and welcoming Filipinos where everyone is friendly and greats
them with smile. But that’s not the only characteristics that they are proud of, as the literature of the Philippines are also something that
should be noted. Philippines’ pride in its rich cultural history, influenced most notably by Spanish and American colonists. The artistry
and the ways of the writers are so diverse but it collectively shows the depths of the culture and history of the country and the lessons
passed on from generation to generation where artists so devotedly reflect in their works as reminders and awareness for their
fellowmen.

This is showed in the literary fiction of “Tata Selo” in which the setting brings us back to the Hispanic era where injustice and
improper use of power and influence is prevalent and showed a history that we can learn not to repeat. Writers also use their talents
to passionately writes about the issues like feminism and abuse such as Morning in Nagrebcan while taking us into a rural area. The
literary works has been giving people a slip on the reality where it can be both tough and cruel but we should always find the good bits
in life and be positive where the literary work like how “Si Mabuti” displayed the strength of a woman.

Vietnam is a top worth-visiting places due to their

ancient history, diverse culture and quintessential natural
landscape. Historical landmarks are the top attractive parts that
are normally part of a Vietnam tour with hospitable and modest
characteristics of the locals it is not a surprise that tourists
enjoyed their incredibly memorable experience in their country.
What character does Vietnamese have?
Due to how people are born in poor condition, they are
raised to be hardworking and long-suffering. They owe the
majority of their beliefs in their Vietnamese folk tales and
tradition that reflects on their way of living even up to this date.
In a poem called “A School Boy’s Apology”, the readers are taken
back to the memories of Vietnamese War and gave us the
perspective of a young boy’s and how he deciphers everything
in front of his eye. It is a historical and significant milestone in
thousand years of Vietnam history with several war artifacts
remained. This poem shows the artistry of the writer displaying
the significance of their history that he wanted to preserve and
relive in the minds of the readers.

Brunei was a part of England until they received independence
in 1984, this is the reason why English is a widely spoken and taught in
school for a very young age. As a tourist if you’re looking for a peaceful
vacation, Brunei seems to be a good choice as it resembles an imagery of
paradise and it’s easier to travel since the locals can speak English. Brunei
residences are predominantly Muslim resulting for the country to banned
liquor, contributing to how it achieves a low criminal rate.

Brunei is a one-track economy that is known for its

wealth from oil and gas, because of this they are one of the
world’s wealthiest despite being relatively small Southeast
Asian nation. Brunei is a tiny nation on the island of Borneo.
Brunei is called the “Borneo’s Green Heart” based on a poem
where they describe the country as having abundant natural
resources, hospitable people and a tranquil place. “The
Oilfield Labourers”, “Borneo’s Green Heart” and “Travel
Brunei Darusalam Poem – Bandar Seri Begawan”, are literary
works written as emphasis on what the country has.
“The Oilfield Labourers” mentioned an oilfield which is
normal in the country considering they are a big oil provider,
“Borneo’s Green Heart” and “Travel Brunei Darusalam Poem
– Bandar Seri Begawan” are both showcasing the beauty of
the country and the normal everyday sceneries sending a
vivid imagery of the country and its countrymen.

Myanmar , also known as Burma is the largest country

in Mainland Southeast and the 10th largest in Asia. Yangon City is the
best tourist spot where they can admire the sacred Buddhist pagoda.
They are considered as a Golden Land and a must visit destination for
those who fancy beaches and is fascinated with archeology for Myanmar
can give you plenty to choose from. If you worry about the language
barrier, worry less because due to the British colonial rule, they are
taught to be bilingual, for both English and Burmese that is known as
Anglo-Vernacular.

The literature of Burma, was historically influenced by Indian and Thai

cultures, as seen in many works, such as Close Proximity, The
Kindergarten Teacher, The Wedding Reception and also the popular is
the Ramayana. In the literature pieces of Myanmar its rare not to find
reference about the country’s culture, religion and tradition as it is
intertwined to their daily lives. From the birthday offering tradition that
is illustrated in “Close Proximity”, and the vivid narration in “The
Wedding Reception” and how they celebrate such joyous occasions.

Known as Siam before, Thailand is also rich for its natural

resources. This place also caters guests and visitors with its natural
sceneries and landscapes that brought pride to those people who
cannot speak for themselves. The country strengthens their tourism
as they invested in the infrastructure making communication and
access to tourist locations easily.
Not only with natural resources, have they also carried with its name
its literary pieces. From the poem, Boatman’s Love Song, it shows
how someone sees love in every possible way. May it be physical,
emotional or even spiritually. This poem lets people express
themselves and relate to them to any kind of feelings they are capable
to feel. For the second poem, Three Line Poem of Uten Mahamid,
represents how an author can be creative in writing. Since he was
capable of writing this humorous yet short poem, it is still puzzle to
readers but it is for them to define. Moreover, this shows how a writer
can express his ideas without further explaining what it talks about. It
is the essence of poetry to express one’s own ideas through writing its
own words.
For all the more, all of these literatures reflect to how a society right
now evolved. These historical events became inspiration to those
authors to let the next generation be aware of what happened to their
era. Not just for empathy but also it serves as wisdom to those
audience, most importantly to its fellowmen.
