Notice regarding MOOC

As per the university norm, a B. Tech student of V to VIII semester is allowed to take a
maximum of 8 credits from MOOC in DEC/OEC/GEC category.

In this regard, the students should consider following guidelines while opting MOOC:
• In one semester, student is required to register for two courses of at least two credits
each. One MOOC course is equivalent to 2 credits.
• These courses can be opted form four portals only- Coursera, Swayam, NPTL and Edx.
• If a student selects a course from Coursera, then register using DTU domain email Id
as DTU has created a learning hub with Coursera for DTU Students.
• A core course (till VIII sem.) can not be taken from MOOC.
• The duration of each MOOC course shall be at least 6 weeks and of minimum 24
hours' duration.
• Students are required to submit the course completion and grade certificate for each
course taken in MOOC at the end of the semester.
• Students have to ensure that courses opted-in MOOC shall not be those courses which
are already studied by them as a DEC/GEC/OEC in the University. Also, they should not
register the same courses in the future as well. For example, if a student has already
completed a course on Machine Learning from MOOC, then he/she can not take the
same course as a DEC/GEC/OEC again offered in the University or vice-versa.
• Students are advised to check the duration, number of weeks and certification
carefully as sometimes this data may change and may cause inconvenience.
• Selected MOOCs are to be approved by the BOS of department.

Students are required to adhere to all the points mentioned above while choosing MOOC.
