04 COOLING WATER SYSTEM

Cooling water circulation in cylinder head

HT water to the cylinder head comes from the cylinder liner,
flows around the exhaust valve seat rings and fuel injection
nozzle and continues upwards from the cylinder head water
space to the return pipe.
The seat cooling circuit cools the exhaust valve seats and
valves against thermal load.

Components
01 Exhaust valve seat ring
02 Inlet valve seat ring
03 Fuel injection nozzle
04 Center sleeve

Connections
A Cooling water from cylinder liner

Multiduct
The multiduct is a cast iron support for the
exhaust pipe and insulation box.
It is located behind the cylinder head.
The multiduct conveys charge air from receiver
to cylinder head, exhaust gas from cylinder
head to exhaust manifold and HT water from
cylinder head to the return pipe.

Components
01 Multiduct

Connections
A Cooling water from cylinder head
B Cooling water return pipe
C Connection to HT venting system
D Exhaust gas flow
E Charge air flow
