I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of this exercise, students must be able to:

a) Understand the concepts of flow.

b) Identify their passion or interest.
c) Improve their holistic performance.

II. BACKGROUND INFORMATION

“If you are interested in something, you will focus on it, and if you focus attention on
anything, it is likely that you will become interested in it.” By Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi,
Hungarian Psychologist.

We are all passionate about something or the other; something we love doing, something
that can caught our interest whenever we get the opportunity.

III. CLASSROOM ACTIVITY

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Pick four areas that interest you and in which you have a frequently been involved.
List them row-wise in Column A.
2. Fill up the adjacent columns against each interest area with either “YES” or “NOT
SURE” as applicable.
3. Once you have finished populating the table, identify the row which has the
maximum number of “YESES”.
4. The row has the maximum “YESES” is your area of passion, also known as your flow
activity
5. You have 50 minutes to complete this activity.
6. Group leaders should submit this activity in their Canvas account.
7. Upon submission and obtaining a passing grade each group will have 5 minutes to
present their activity as their Summative Assessment.

IV. QUESTION AND ANSWER

1. My Interest/Passion/Flow appears to be in the area of illustration and games.

2. What are your initial actions in developing your skills/personality and the likes.

I aim to be positive in the process of developing my own skills in illustration and gaming.
Even though I’m still at school, studying, I still find work, be it part-time or freelance to gain
experience that would be beneficial for me in the future. As for gaming, it’s different. I don’t
prioritize it as much as the latter. I see it as more of an entertainment and a medium for
passing time. The interesting fact about this interest of mind is; I was able to develop
or/and discover a skill that I was unaware of. For context, the type of games that I was
more into are rhythm games like, OSU, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, etc. so tldr I develop my
hand and eye coordination.

3. Given the opportunity to improve your skill level/ personality among your areas of
interest where in particular you would like to prioritize? And why?

Illustration is the area that I would focus on the most. Why? Because the industry that I
would be joining aligns or focuses in illustration.

V. QUESTION AND ANSWER

1. My Interest/Passion/Flow appears to be in the area of Illustration.

2. What are your initial actions in developing your skills/personality and the likes.

In the initial stages of the development of the skill, I first took an interest in drawing at a
young age due to animations I saw on TV. From that point on I was taught the basics of the
basics through my sister and my cousin’s guidance and what proceeded are years of never
ending practice.

3. Given the opportunity to improve your skill level/ personality among your areas of
interest where in particular you would like to prioritize? And why?

In the modern age of technology if the chance to improve on a skills as given to me I would
try to improve upon my graphic design and streaming skills, for not only does it benefit the
nature of business a digital artist needs these days online as a freelancer, it also poses great
opportunity for business for other branches as well such as advertising and product
placement in the market.

1. My Interest/Passion/Flow appears to be in the area of ARTS.

2. What are your initial actions in developing your skills/personality and the likes.

In order to develop my skills, I try to practice and do it more often.

3. Given the opportunity to improve your skill level/ personality among your areas of
interest where in particular you would like to prioritize? And why?

The skills that I would like to prioritize are Drawing, Painting, and Writing. I will prioritize
my skills that are art-related because these are what I enjoy the most, this is where I find
myself happy. If I were to choose among the three I would choose Drawing since I have
more knowledge about it already than my other skills.
