Schedule: 12:00- 12:55 pm on Mondays, 10:00-11:55 am on Tuesdays & 8:00-8:55 on Thursdays

Outline: This course is intended to cater in depth knowledge of design of experiments primarily in relation with
quality improvement. The course will review basic quality engineering concepts and probability
distributions, followed by rigorous discussion of hypothesis testing, ANOVA, design of experiments,
randomized block design, factorial experiments and robust design. The course will also cover
response surface methodologies, and regression analysis, thereby providing a comprehensive
background of statistical methods used in quality engineering.
Learning
Outcomes: 1. Learning effective application of design of experiments for process/product quality
Improvement.
2. Learning to plan and conduct experiments and to analyse the resulting data.
3. Understanding statistical theory related to ANOVA, hypothesis testing, design of
experiments.
4. Learning to use regression analysis in connection with DOE and optimize responses.
