Ashley Tagudando mentioned in her research, entitled “The Cutting Classes of Students”,

that every time a student cuts class, it’s inevitable that they are also cutting their education. It is

said that going to school is like having a job, they mostly alike in such reason that you get paid

with knowledge. This problem has been widely observed in Daklan National High School,

escaping is their gateway to engage into different unpleasant activities like drinking alcohol,

engaging with their vices, and etc. In partnership with the school administration, we are going to

propose a solution to address the problem.

Students who cut their classes are one of the burdens of the teachers and parents, also in

our society. One of the most reasons of these students who fail in their grades are cutting their

classes. Examining this situation allows us to push through to this proposal. According to

“Unveiling the Dark Side of Education,” cutting of classes is rampant in Philippines’ public

schools for the reason that there is an inefficient security and relatively high number of students

that make it hard for the school to monitor and that this problem affects the students’ parents or

the students themselves. Another claim by Taylor III in his abstract of “Cutting Class Harms

Grades,” is that cutting classes truly harm the students’ exam scores, behavior and their reviews.

As mentioned above, inefficient security and relatively high number of students makes it

hard for the school to monitor students and maintain their discipline. This serves as their gateway

to easily escape from their classes. To address this problem, we would like to present two

possible solutions. First, we would like to suggest a project which will mainly focus on the fixing

of the fence within the surrounding of the school premises then make only one gate for the

students to enter and go out from the school, and lastly, hire a security guard to take in charge of

the gate and maintain the security of the school.

Fixing or building the fence will ensure that the students will not go out from the school

during class hours. According to a parliamentary report, properly designed school safety fencing

can reduce arson and breaking by 50%, trespassing by 88% and 71% in cutting of classes.

Likewise school fencing creates a safe learning environment for students protecting them from

trespassers and sexual predators. While in hiring security guard it will allow to create a clear

surveillance of those entering and leaving the grounds. This is also important for controlling

unauthorized departure of students who maybe involve in anti- social activities during school

hours.

To implement this project successfully we are looking forward for your support to budget

our project. This will be a huge project that will surely cost a large amount of money but when

we will join hands together we could make this project possible.
