Verb + preposition 

1. IN
absorb, confide, be engrossed, dabble, implicate (usually used in passive voice), involve, indulge,
result, specialise, succeed 

- Dabble in/with sth: do a job as a hobby


- Be engrossed in: concern about sth
- Be implicated in: get involved in
- Indulge in: participate in sth

2. FOR
account, allow, apologise to sb for sth, argue for sth, blame sb for sth, care, charge sb for sth, co
unt, indict sb for sth, fight, pay

- Count for: be of certain value


- Indict sb for sth = convict sb of sth

3. OF
accuse, convict, remind, suspect, consist, dispose, be composed, dream of doing sth
- Be composed of = consist of = comprise

4. WITH
acquaint, associate, charge sb with sth, clutter, coincide, collide, comply, be concerned, confront
sb with sth, confuse sb/sth with sb/sth, cram, dabble, deal, discuss, face, familiarize sb with sth, i
ngratiate oneself with, meet, pack, plead, provide, tamper, trust/ entrust sb with

- Be cluttered/ crammed/ packed with = be crowded with/ be full of


- Collide with: crash into
- confuse sb/sth with sb/sth: nhầm một người với một người khác
- Ingratiate oneself with sb: lấy lòng một ai đó
Ex: I hate Tina, who always ingratiates herself with our boss.
- Be confronted with sth = be faced with sth
- Tamper with: to interfere with
Ex: Someone must have tampered with my laptop, since my document file has disappeared
