INTRODUCTION

Air pollution consists of the presence of materials or forms of energy in the air that can pose a
risk, damage, or nuisance severity to living beings as a result of the levels of carbon
dioxide and other pollutant gases in the atmosphere. The scientists said that they
researched and concluded that the increase in greenhouse gases is accelerating the
global warming of the planet. They also said that what we need to do is to stop doing
things that increase greenhouse gases because "66% of premature deaths can be
attributed to human-caused pollution, mainly from the use of fossil fuels, which in
rich countries increases to 80%". Everyone must contribute, so what we need is to be
well informed to know what we are doing wrong so that we can stop doing it and
contribute to the reduction of this pollution.

CAUSES

Air pollution has been caused by human activities for many years, an example of this can be
mining, which uses a large number of chemicals and heavy machinery that alter the
soil, facilitating the accumulation of gases in the air, as well as deforestation that
destroys plant species that clean the air, slowing this process and reducing the
production of oxygen. However, this does not mean that there are no sources of
pollution due to natural processes, such as volcanic eruptions that emit particles in the
form of ash and toxic gases that alter the natural composition of gases present in the
atmosphere. Similarly, dust storms and the uncontrolled dispersion of plant pollen are
major pollutants because a large number of fragments and particles remain suspended
in the air, causing the obstruction of oxygen and a large number of respiratory
diseases.

CONSEQUENCES

The consequences of air pollution are varied and many of them are extremely deadly for us
humans, in an article published in 2018 this was made evident the Pan American
Health Organization said that short and long-term exposure to air pollutants had been
associated with adverse health impacts. Several groups of diseases are being caused
by this type of pollution among these we can distinguish the respiratory diseases such
as asthma, bronchitis, and lung cancer. The bad thing about that is the air pollution
increases a person's risk of these diseases, as well as cardiovascular conditions; Air
pollution also negatively affects the skin, favoring its premature aging, dehydration, or
acne formation. Another problem is that life expectancy is being reduced by
atmospheric pollution in the whole world and the experts are worried, however, more
awareness of this has come to light thanks to a study by the Max Planck Institute and
the Department of Cardiology at the University of Mainz in Germany where they said
that politicians and doctors could be paying much more attention to this than they do
now. Atmospheric pollution can also cause damage to buildings, for example, a lot
of buildings are being damaged by the erosion of their materials in Mexico. On the
other hand, at the environmental level, it also causes multiple damages such as smog
or pollution plumes in big cities, this occurs when cities cannot clean their atmosphere
of pollution because they are not exposed to frequent winds, there is also a decrease in
the ozone layer, which acts as a protective layer against ultraviolet radiation and acid
rain, responsible for the large-scale destruction of forests and soils as well as the
acidification of some lakes and the erosion of buildings, by attacking some metals
present in the materials of which they are made. Although this environmental problem
looks bad, the best thing to do is stay informed and take preventive measures to
reduce it.
SOLUTION

Nowadays, it costs a lot to have the air pollution solved, will we could have tried from the
beginning to take care of the air to avoid so much contamination, but there is no
turning back and we can only put into practice solutions and environmentally friendly
habits with our family and community. A very useful solution would be to reduce the
use of plastics and replace them with biodegradable materials, for example in several
European countries plastics are being consumed less to avoid air contamination.
Another solution is for people to use public transport more than cars as well as
bicycles and means of transport that do not generate much carbon dioxide from fuel
consumption, this will have decreased air pollution by then. We can also avoid the
use of aerosol products such as deodorants because they are the main cause of the
ozone hole increasing due to a chemical called LPG gas which is extremely harmful
so it is important to reduce their consumption immediately, this will cause gas GLP
will have reduced in the ozone layer by then. It is important to emphasize that in our
communities we can also work to combat this problem, for example in some places in
Asia they get their community to recycle their waste and they can help each other to
separate their waste correctly. Also sustainable energies are being used by more
families and bicycles are being used by more people to avoid the use of fossil fuels.
These are undoubtedly measures that we must put into practice right now.

CONCLUSION

There are many people who have been affected by air pollution around the world, so it is a
serious problem that if we do not stop it will be increasing at a catastrophic level. For
this reason, although it may seem impossible, we can contribute to the care and
prevention of the same and serve as an example for the people around us, thus getting
them to implement these preventive actions in their daily lives in the future and thus
will be making a great change that will benefit us all.
