I. Identifying Information

Program Title : DISTRICT LEVEL IN-SERVICE TRAINING FOR


SCHOOL YEAR 2020-2021
Program Description : This is an annual in-service training for teaching and non-
teaching staff of Dauin District to uplift the knowledge and
skills in the delivery of quality education to all Filipino
learners. In particular, school heads and teachers will be
trained on the theoretical and technical aspects of RPMS
and PPST as required by the Department of Education in
the assessment of teachers’ performance. Moreover, they
will be trained on some parochial concerns at the school
level to address difficulties raised by teachers during the
conduct of training needs assessment initiated by the
Human Resource Training and Development in the
division office. Overall, this program is a capacity and
skill building for school heads and teachers to come up
with improved teaching practices in schools that is
relevant to the needs of the fast-changing times.

Duration : 40 hours

Management Level of Program : District Based Training

Delivery Mode : Facilitators will broadcast their presentation using Virtual


platform meeting where school heads and teachers will
have an F2F job embedded learning participation via their
respective school sites or host school for those school
with unstable internet connection.

II. Rationale

The primary purpose of conducting an in-service training for school heads and teachers
of Dauin District is to enable themselves to acquire new understanding and instructional skills. It
endeavors on creating learning environments which will enable the school heads and teachers
to develop an engaging work environment for improvement of performance.
Specifically, this training is develop to ensure the attainability and sustainability of quality
education services to the Filipino learners in the Department of Education through the
Philippine National Research Center for Teacher Quality (RCTQ), in coordination with the
Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development (BHROD), National Educators
Academy of the Philippines (NEAP), Teacher’s Education Council (TEC) and the Basic
Education Sector Transformation (BEST) program using the tools prescribed in the RPMS &
PPST manuals. The RPMS serves as a performance assessment tool for teachers to quantify
their teaching practices in the classroom and professional life. While, PPST, is a support
mechanism for teachers to raise the bar of teaching practices according to the standards set by
the department.
Moreover, the result of the division wide survey on training needs assessment was
conducted online to identify teachers’ desires to be trained on specific topics aside from the
topics presented in the RPMS & PPST. By, doing so, teachers will be enlightened on the gray
areas that they find difficult to do in line with their work so that the flow of their performance will
be enhanced and further developed.
Therefore, this training will enable the school administrators and teachers to realize the
importance of having a collaborative environment for learning enablers in the schools using
appropriate and relevant tools.
At the end of the five-day orientation-workshop, it is expected that the following will be
achieved:

Objectives

1. To orient the participants on the theoretical and technical information of


the RPMS and PPST, relevant contextualized learning areas, data
privacy act and other parochial concerns at the school level.
2. To enhance the participants’ skills during the application of the
understanding of PPST in relation to RPMS implementation and other
parochial concerns.
3. To allow participants to realize the importance of their roles and
responsibilities as a school head and as a teacher from the topics
presented in the five-day in-service training.

Expected Final Outcome/Success Indicator:


1. School heads and teachers will have full knowledge on the theoretical and
technical information of the RPMS and PPST, relevant contextualized
learning areas, data privacy act and other parochial concerns at the
school level.
2. School heads and teachers will have an enhanced skill in the
application of their understanding of PPST in relation to RPMS
implementation and other parochial concerns.
3. School heads and teachers will have a full realization of their important
roles and responsibilities from the topics presented in the five-day in-
service training.
