Localization and Indigenization of Curriculum

Mathematics 2
ARALING PANLIPUNAN Topic: Lesson 64:
Topic: Ang Aking Pamilya “Paghahati-hati Gamit ang Isip Lamang”
Grade 1

Localize Materials is usually found in the surrounding of the school or in the

community. Minayutan Elementary School is commonly have Buko, Niyog, Basket, Ting-ting,
Suso Shell, Bungan g Prutas, kawayan at iba pa.
The localize Material is very effective in
teaching and learning process of the pupils.
Localized material in Science (Ecosystem)
Materials for the provision of Multigrade Teaching in the classroom are an
essential aspect of any discussion of Multigrade Teaching. .Multigrade teaching is
often associated with schools in remote and difficult contexts dealing with rural and
other disadvantaged persons, with the result that there are few resources available,
given the poverty of the region in which this type of teaching is found.
Localized materials are the materials used in teaching that can be found in
school and in the community. Localized materials are very suited for the remote
areas like Minayutan E/S. There is so many indigenous materials that can be found
in this area.
This is an example of localized material that can be used in teaching
Ecosystem in science subject. Through the use of this material the learner will
encourage to participate in class. It can save also money because the materials use
is available in school and community.

RE USE,
RECYCLABLE
MATERIALS
We can create unique learning materials from the things that we thought are
useless. We just need to expand our imagination and creativity. We need to be
observant from our environment.
We can use plastic bottle, eggshells, seedlings, old paper or magazine as a
resource material for teaching. We can build a character from the story with the use
of this plastic bottle, coconut hair, stone or seed and use it as a model to our class.
Like this coming Christmas, we can make lanterns from old magazine or
newspapers as decoration in our classroom.

Kindergarten Education
