New Normal Public Governance after COVID-19

The Chinese Academy of Personnel Science and School of Politics and Public
Administration of East China University of Political Science and Law (in Shanghai) would like to
have a joint track (on-line and off-line) on New Normal Public Governance after COVID-19
during the IIAS-EUROMENA 2022 Conference.
The global spread of pandemic has had a profound impact on the politics, economy and
society of countries around the world, and national governance and public management are facing
unprecedented challenges. Faced with the new normal of normalization of epidemic prevention
and control, how to balance the relationship between pandemic prevention and control and
economic growth? How to achieve a more accurate and effective dynamic clearance? How can
emerging technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence be used more effectively in public
governance in the post-COVID era? How to evaluate the policy choices and outcomes of countries'
epidemic prevention and control? These questions pose new requirements and challenges to both
the practice and theory of public governance.
This track will focus on these issues and discuss how countries around the world can meet
and respond to the many challenges of public governance in the post-COVID era, in order to
promote institutional innovation, capacity building and effectiveness of national governance.
Experts and scholars from all over the world are cordially invited to share their research results.
The core topics to explore are as follows:
Models and characteristics of public governance in the post-COVID era;
Innovation and effectiveness of national governance in the post-COVID era;
The characteristics of government organization and management in the post-COVID era;
How can social organizations participate in public governance in the post-COVID era?
How can emerging technologies empower and challenge public governance in the post-
COVID era?
International cooperation in public governance in the post-COVID era (the role and role
of international organizations);
Global Public Governance in the post-COVID era.

Calendar

The deadline for abstract submissions is set on May 1st;


Registrations are open;
Notification of acceptance will be made by May 8;
The deadline for full paper submissions is set on May 29;
The conference will take place on June 27-July 1.

Open Access

Participants can opt in for the Open Access program of IIAS;


Their full papers will be reviewed and channeled to partner journals of the IIAS.

Registration

Participation in the conference is conditional upon the payment of registration fees;

The registration fee cover: participation in the conference, in a reception, in a dinner
The registration fees are the following: € 550 (Regular), € 450 (IIAS/EGPA/IASIA
Members), € 400 (Paper presenters), € 350 (IIAS Member Countries’ representatives),
€ 300 (Track chairpersons & Members of the Scientific Committee), € 200 (PhD. Students),
€ 150 (Accompanying persons)
