Michelle Bethard OGL:320 Initial Project Plan

*** = Contingencies:
1. Sudden onset illness
2. Workload increases at my job/new projects beginning that create more workload to manage
3. Family emergency
4. Family pet emergencies
5. Inclement weather
6. Work related isolation due to Covid-19 causing me to have to work more than 45 hr/week to support my business and team at any given time
7. Loss of power/internet/ Canvas System becomes inaccessible for unknow reasons
8. Laptop loss/damage/theft leaving me without access to a computer

Plan when contingencies arise:

- Review daily agenda/weekly agenda and leverage the planned “white space” to be able to move things around in order to protect my course work time.
- If an agenda readjustment cannot be made, leverage prioritization list and address urgent matters immediately and during waiting periods, continue to
work on course work in order to meet deadlines
- Always bring my laptop and charger with me incase of emergency so I can plug in anywhere
- Always keeping my mobile hotspot with me incase of power loss/internet loss due to inclement weather or other potential emergencies that can arise
- Bring binder of all of the product + QC and their respective due dates that I created at the beginning of project incase I need to work offline/plan for
contingencies.

*** = Risks
1. Time management
2. Overcommitting my time at work which takes away from course work planned time
3. Fatigue/lack of sleep causing lack of focus
4. Being winter in the Midwest, potential snow/ice storms can disrupt internet connection
5. Procrastination
6. Winter planned trip to remote cabin with my partner and dogs (COVID-19 friendly getaway)
7. Technical Difficulties

Plan to minimize risks:

- Maintaining an hourly based weekly agenda via my life planner so I can have easy access to both personal, educational, and work related
scheduling/blocked off times to complete tasks
- When feeling fatigued, taking a 30-45 min nap to re-charge/reset in order to continue work on producing quality products if time is allowed for this
- To overcome procrastination and overcommitment I will continue to leverage a timer system that helps get me started on the work in 15 min increments
and instead of agreeing to the workload, I will circle back with the person after carefully and thoughtfully reviewing my agenda through realistic eyes and
then follow up with what is and is not possible given my current workload then set a later date check in to begin the work then
- Make sure I am looking ahead with weather forecasts, work projects, and personal appointments/engagements and build my my schedules around them
while leaving white space for flexibility if needed to be used as a buffer
