Cardboard cloth roller
What A cylindrical cardboard tube is placed over an aluminum square tube construction as a core for the
fabric. When the desired cloth length is reached, the loom can be stopped to remove the cloth roll.
The aluminum square tube construction can be pulled out of the cloth wrapped cardboard tube.

The aluminum square tube construction stays with the loom and is immediately in productive use
again. The cloth stores on the cardboard tube.

Parts
Illustration Parts
A. Gear (26 teeth)
C B. Self-acting clamping piece
C. Cardboard tube
B D. Aluminum square tube construction

Important notes • The maximum allowed cloth diameter is Ø 300 mm.

• Single panel weaving is allowed on T190 - T380.
• multiple panel weaving is allowed on T190 - T340.

Inserting the fabric An opening can be made between the pressure rollers and the sand roller to make insertion and
positioning of the fabric easier.
Proceed as follows to open pressure roller(s) and insert fabric:
1. In case of spring tensioners on the pressure rollers:
Turn the handle “E” sideways to loosen the spring tensioner “F” on both sides.
This tensioner is not available on machines widths T380 and larger with double pressure
roller (carpet backing).

2. Turn the handle “A” upwards.

3. Insert the fabric “B” in the opening created between the pressure roller(s) “C” and the sand
roller “D”.
4. Turn the handle “A” downwards. Continue with step 5.

5. In case of spring tensioners on the pressure rollers:
Put back the spring tensioner “F” on both sides by means of closing the handle “E”.
Use a ring spanner “G” of 17 mm to lift the handle “A” of the pressure rollers in case of wide
machines or heavy pressure rollers.
Always grab the spanner “G” at the higher extremity in order to prevent your hand being
crushed. This is also the best way to reduce the force needed for the operation.
.

To... ... start with the spanner “G”...

lift the pressure rollers with the spanner... as far away from you as possible in order to
obtain enough stroke whilst pulling the spanner
“G” to you in a safe way.
lower the pressure rollers back on the sand as close to you as possible in order to have
roller... enough stroke to move the spanner “G” safely
all the way down from you.

Selecting and changing the reduction ratio
Types and guideline The following table shows the reduction ration
If you have a... pick density with... then select...
• regular ≥ 10 picks/cm (25.4 picks/inch) 17/62
• low < 10 picks/cm (25.4 picks/inch) 34/43
Depending on weaving machine rpm and fabric shrinkage, with a reduction ratio of 17/62, it is
possible to achieve pick density values below the value shown. However, you should take
more heed of the limits if you are working with a larger rpm variation close to the limit value for
a reduction ratio.
We strongly advise you not to try to achieve higher pick density values with a reduction ration
of 34/43 than the value shown.

Furthermore, when modifying the reduction ratio also take into account the settings and the
let-off motion range.

Minimum pick density The following table shows the minimum pick density (picks/cm) achievable, given a shrinkage factor
table of 100% and taking into account:
• weaving speed in rpm (depending of the machine width and execution);
• reduction ratio selected (17/62 or 34/43).
At ... rpm and reduction ratio 17/62, or with reduction ratio 34/43,
the minimum picks/cm = ... the minimum picks/cm = ...
• 300 2,1 0,7
• 350 2,4 0,8
• 400 2,8 1,0
• 450 3,1 1,1
• 500 3,4 1,2
• 550 3,9 1,3
• 600 4,1 1,4
• 650 4,5 1,5
• 700 4,8 1,7

Illumination types
Led-lamps The fabric is illuminated by means of bright high quality LED-lamps.
The following table shows the number of LED-lamps per meter according to the position of the lamp:
Position LED’s per meter
Above the fabric (ILUP) 28
Above the back shed 28
Below the fabric (ILLOW) 56

Different lengths The LED-lamps come in different lengths (150, 175, 200, 225 and 250 cm.). These can be combined
to assure a full illumination of the fabric.
The (combined) length of the LED-lamps also depends on whether or not the machine is reduced in
width. This brings us the following situations:
A. Mechanical filling cutter
B. Mechanical filling cutter with a maximum of 25 cm width reduction on the left-hand side
C. Mechanical filling cutter with a maximum of 50 cm width reduction on the left-hand side
Only the lower LED-lamp lengths are dependent of width reduction. The upper LED-lamps are
not depending on whether or not there is width reduction.
The table below shows the possible combinations of LED-lamps according to the machine type and
the width reduction:
