OBJECTIVES
To help students of the batch of 2024 get
acquainted with the life and culture at St.
Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
To provide insights into extra-
curriculars, co-curriculars and
networking within St. Xavier’s College,
Mumbai in a remote learning
environment.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
Mentors and mentees to have developed
a healthy relationship at the end of the
program.
Mentees to have greater clarity on the
culture at St. Xavier’s College Mumbai,
and how it can help them achieve their
goals.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF MENTOR
Initiating and conducting regular
meetings with the mentees.
Providing sufficient notice before the
next meeting is scheduled.
Advising the mentees on the culture at
St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
Recommending resources or initiatives
that will help the mentees fulfill their
goals.
To assist mentees in meeting the goals,
they may have set for themselves, for
their college lives.
To foster a healthy relationship between
the mentees and mentors, leading to the
creation of a positive culture between the
two groups and the two batches, in the
larger context.
Mentees to have gained knowledge about
extra-curricular activities, co-curricular
activities and networking within college.
Sharing relevant experiences that will be
useful for the mentees in their college
lives.
Communicating with mentees on a
regular basis during the course of the
mentorship program, and if needed, after
the program ends.
Being respectful of the mentees’ time
constraints, beliefs, and other limitations.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF MENTEE
Attending the meetings as scheduled by
mutual consent by the mentors and
mentees.
Providing sufficient notice in case the
mentee fails to attend the meeting.
Preparing relevant questions, ideas, or
suggestions for the upcoming session,
the topic and context for which, shall be
informed by the mentors at the end of
the previous session.

AGENDAS DISCUSSED IN THE MEETING

MEETING ONE: Introductory session

College culture
Mentors conducted an interactive session with mentees about the social life at St.
Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
Mentors provided insights into the culture of the college with a glimpse of college
activities like Malhar, Janfest.

MEETING TWO: Academics

Academics
Mentors delivered valuable tips to mentees about managing their workload and
stress during Continuous Internal Assessments and End Semester Examinations.
Mentors discussed the course content and paper pattern with mentees along with
clarification of academic queries.

FUTURE COURSE OF ACTION: MEETING 2

-The focus of mentors would be to motivate mentees and help them throughout their
term with any doubts or queries related to academics.
-Recommending appropriate reading material which could complement their learning
process in college.

MEETING THREE: Extra-curricular and Co-curricular

Co-curricular and extracurricular

Video content was shared with mentees during the session, which included
aftermovies of renowned college festivals like Malhar and Janfest.
Mentors shed light on the different societies, initiatives and activities that the
college has to offer, with an in depth query resolution session.
Mentors delivered details about the SIP programme.

FUTURE COURSE OF ACTION: MEETING 3

-Additional video content of college festivals and activities have been shared with the
mentees, with the aim of giving them better insights into the same.
-Mentors are determined to provide any assistance required by the mentees for extra-
curricular, co-curricular activities in college.

MEETING FOUR: Internships

Internships

The role of internships and its perks were discussed with the mentees.
Mentors explained the process of exploring and applying for professional opportunities,
along with networking in college and outside college.

FUTURE COURSE OF ACTION: MEETING 4

-Mentors are determined to provide any assistance required by the mentees for the
internship process.
-Mentees have been advised to create their LinkedIn profiles for networking and
exploring professional opportunities.
