Symbols, Cautions and Warnings

The symbol (exclamation point in a triangle) indicates a general Caution or Warning.

The symbol (a lightning bolt in a triangle) indicates an electrical shock hazard. Inside the
VTR (Visual Tuberator) are exposed live voltage circuits. The VTR should be opened only by
qualified service personnel. Do NOT operate the VTR in rain or wet conditions to prevent
electrical shock hazard.
The symbol identifies the power switch. The switch is a momentary push on, and will turn
off when released.

Store the ASTM color standard (P/N 85311) in complete darkness when not in use.

Clean the VTR and color standard with a soft damp cloth. Do NOT use any chemicals which
may loosen or damage the placards or magnifier.

Installation
The VTR is provided in two voltage ranges, but can be adjusted to operate on other voltages.
Adjustment of the voltage range can be performed only by a qualified service technician (see
wiring diagram). Adjust transformer primary to obtain a secondary voltage closest to 115V~.

Connect the detachable power cord to the back of the VTR, then plug into the appropriate line
voltage receptacle.

Operation
The VTR is used to rate tube deposits formed by a JFTOT (Jet Fuel Thermal Oxidation Tester).
The VTR operation instructions are provided in the JFTOT user’s manual.

Symboles, Mises en garde et Avertissements

Le symbole (point d'exclamation dans un triangle) indique une Mise en garde ou un Avertissement à
caractère général.

Le symbole (un éclair dans un triangle) indique un risque de choc électrique. À l'intérieur du VTR, il y
a des circuits sous tension exposés. Le VTR ("Visual Tube Rator") ne doit être ouvert que par du personnel
qualifié. NE faites PAS fonctionner le VTR dans des conditions pluvieuses ou mouillées pour prévenir le
risque de choc électrique.

Le symbole identifie l'interrupteur d'alimentation. L'interrupteur est du type à contact à pousser

momentanément et se mettra à l'arrêt quand il est relâché.

Entreposez la norme de couleur ASTM (Nº de pièce 85311) dans l'obscurité complète quand il n'est pas
employé.

Nettoyez le VTR et la norme de couleur à l'aide d'un chiffon doux humide. N'utilisez PAS des produits
chimiques qui pourraient se détacher ou endommager les pancartes ou la loupe.

Installation

Le VTR est muni de deux gammes de tension, mais il peut être réglé pour fonctionner sur d'autres tensions.
Le réglage de la gamme de tension ne peut être accompli que par un technicien qualifié du service entretien
(consulter le schéma de câblage). Réglez le primaire du transformateur pour obtenir une tension secondaire
très proche de 115 V~.

Connectez le cordon d'alimentation détachable à l'arrière du VTR, puis branchez-le dans la prise de tension
secteur appropriée.

Fonctionnement

Le VTR est utilisé pour classer les dépôts des tubes formés par un JFTOT (Appareil d'essai d'oxydation
thermique de carburéacteur). Les instructions de fonctionnement VTR sont fournies dans le manuel de
l'utilisateur du JFTOT.

Bildzeichen, Hinweise und Warnungen

Das Bildzeichen (Ausrufezeichen in einem Dreieck) stellt einen allgemeinen Hinweis oder eine
allgemeine Warnung dar.

Das Bildzeichen (Blitzstrahl in einem Dreieck) deutet auf eine elektrische Schockgefahr. Im VTR
("Visual Tube Rator") befinden sich nicht-geschützte stromführende Spannungs-schaltungen. Das VTR-
Gerät darf somit nur von qualifizierten Wartungstechnikern geöffnet werden. Um die Gefahr eines
elektrischen Schocks zu vermeiden, darf das VTR-Gerät NICHT im Regen oder in anderen nassen
Umgebungen verwendet werden.

Das Bildzeichen identifiziert den Stromschalter. Der Schalter ist ein nichtrastender Druckschalter und
das Gerät wird ausgeschaltet, wenn man nicht mehr auf den Schalter drückt.

Wenn er nicht benötigt wird, muß der ASTM Farbenstandard (Teil Nr. 85311) in einem vollkommen dunklen
Raum aufbewahrt werden.

Das VTR-Gerät und der Farbenstandard sollen mit einem weichen und feuchten Tuch gereinigt werden. Es
dürfen KEINE Chemikalien verwendet werden, weil sie die Anschläge oder die Vergrößerungseinheit
beschädigen können.

Installation

Das VTR-Gerät wird mit zwei Spannungsbereichen geliefert; es kann jedoch auch für einen Betrieb mit
anderen Spannungswerten eingestellt werden. Der Spannungsbereich darf nur von einem qualifizierten
Wartungstechniker eingestellt werden (Siehe Schaltbild). Der Transformator soll vor allem zur Einstellung
einer Sekundärspannung eingestellt werden, die so gut wie möglich den Spannungswert 115 V erreicht.

Das entfernbare Netzkabel zuerst in die Rückseite des VTR-Geräts und danach in eine geeignete Steckdose
stecken.

Betrieb
Das VTR-Gerät wird zur Bewertung von Rohrablagerungen verwendet, die von einem JFTOT (Jet Fuel
Thermal Oxidation Tester) gebildet werden. Die Betriebsanweisungen für das VTR stellen einen Bestandteil
der JFTOT-Betriebsanweisungen dar.

El símbolo (un relámpago en un triángulo) indica peligro de choque eléctrico. Adentro el VTR tiene
ircuitos expuestos bajo tensión. El VTR ("Visual Tube Rator") debe abrir solamente el personal de servicio
calificado. NO haga funcionar el VTR en la lluvia o en condiciones mojadas para impedir el peligro de los
choques eléctricos.

El símbolo identifica al interruptor de alimentación. El interruptor es de encendido momentáneo

oprimiendo, y vuelve a apagarse al soltarlo.

Almacene la norma de color ASTM (P/N 85311) en la obscuridad completa cuando no esté usándola.

Limpie el VTR y la norma de color con una tela húmeda y suave. NO utilice substancias químicas que
puedan aflojar o dañar los tableros o la lupa.

Instalación

EL VTR se ofrece en dos gamas de tensiones, pero puede ajustarse para que funcione con otras tensiones.
El ajuste de la gama de tensión debe hacerla solamente un técnico competente de servicio (vea el diagrama
del cableado). Ajuste el primario del transformador para obtener una tensión secundaria tan cercana a 115
voltios.

Conecte el cordón de alimentación desmontable a la parte posterior del VTR, luego enchufe en el

generica.

Il simbolo (un triangolo con un fulmine) indica un pericolo di scarica elettrica. La circuiteria posta
all'interno del VTR-100 è sotto tensione. Il VTR ("Visual Tube Rator") va aperto solamente da tecnici
qualificati. NON azionare lo VTR sotto la pioggia o in condizioni bagnate, prevenendo il pericolo di
scariche elettriche.

Il simbolo identifica un interruttore di alimentazione. L'interruttore a pulsante attiva

temporaneamente l'alimentazione quando viene premuto e la disattiva una volta rilasciato.

Lo standard cromatico ASTM (No di cat. 85311) non in uso va conservato al buio.

Pulire il VTR e lo standard cromatico con un panno morbido umido. NON usare alcuna sostanza chimica
che possa danneggiare le etichette o la lente di ingrandimento.

Installazione
Il VTR è fornito in due modelli, ciascuno dei quali può essere regolato in funzione di altre gamme di
tensione. La selezione della gamma di alimentazione va effettuata solamente da un tecnico qualificato
(vedere lo schema di cablaggio). Regolare il primario del trasformatore per ottenere una tensione
secondaria approssimata il più possibile a 115 V~.

Collegare sul retro del VTR il cavo di alimentazione staccabile ed inserirne l'altra spina nell'appropriata
presa di rete.

Funzionamento
Il VTR viene usato per i depositi in provetta formati da un analizzatore dell'ossidazione termica del
combustibile per aviogetti JFTOT (Jet Fuel Thermal Oxidation Tester). Le istruzioni per l'uso del VTR
sono incluse nel manuale operativo dell 'JFTOT.
