Health is wealth. Truly, everything is nothing without


health. When someone is
healthy and free from any sickness, then that someone
possesses a wealth.
DepEd launches the Oplan Kalusugan sa Department
of Education (OK sa DepEd)
which is a convergence of DepEd’s health programs,
plans, policies, and activities for their
effective and efficient implementation at the school
level, in partnership with various
stakeholders. OK sa DepEd shall focus on DepEd’s
major school health and nutrition
programs specifically the School-Based Feeding
Program (SBFP), National Drug
Education Program (NDEP), Adolescent Reproductive
Health Education (ARH), Water,
Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in Schools (WinS),
and Medical, Dental, and Nursing
Services. Other health and nutrition programs will
continue to be implemented in support
of these five flagship programs.
This is relation to QUA Memorandum No. 00-821-
0097 titled Support and
participation in the celebration of National Events of
the Administration Strands Program
and Services leading to the September 13, Opening of
the school year 2021-2022. Among
the said events on One Health Week institutionalized
by DepEd Order No. 28, series of
2018 or the Policy and Guidelines on Oplan
Kalusugan sa Department of Education.
July, 2021 8:00 in the morning the OK sa DepEd focal
person, Jogen G. Gonzaga,
with the school principal Adelina C. Japona, initiated
the orientation on One Health Week
activity through google meet and followed by the
distribution of hygiene kits.
September 14, 2021, second day, the school conducted
slogan and poster making
contest to provide information to the parents. After
the program, the School-based feeding
Program (SBFP) determined the recipients for the
SBFP.
On September 15, 2021, the WASH IN SCHOOL
Program (WINS) was
implemented. The WINS focal person conducted a
virtual hand washing of pupils. They
were taught the proper way of hand washing and its
importance.
On the fourth day, September 16, 2021, Ma’am Anna
Mae a. Montecillo, distruct
nurse together with the school clinic teacher Jogen G.
Gonzaga checked the
