Mark 4:1-9

Parable: an earthly story with heavenly meaning What is the problem with this soil?
 This soil is shallow that the seed cannot grow its roots.
THE SOWER AND THE GOOD SEED What kind of people do you think are presented here?
Who is the Sower in this story?  This people had hearts of stone.
 Jesus Christ, who came from God and preach the Gospel, sowing spiritual things  The word of God had only a place in the head, and not in the heart
among men; this may be also applicable to faithful minister of the Word of God.
What is the Seed that he sows? The Thorny Ground (verse 7)

What is the importance of God’s Word to us? (2 Timothy 3:15 and Rom. 1:16)  There were thorns that grew and choked the plant that it did not bear fruit.

 The birds ate it  It grew and produce a crop. The fruit increased in number; multiplying a hundred
What kind of people do you think are presented here? times.
 They heard the word of God but made no impression/impact/effect in his life. What then we must do in order that we should become, and go on being “good ground”?
What do the birds/fowls represent here?  We should listen and understand God’s Word.
 Devil / Satan comes and take away the word that was sown in them.  Let God’s Word be firmly planted in our hearts and bear fruit.
What ways does Satan try to hinder people from really taking in the Word?
 He tell lies that God’s word is boring. CONCLUSION:
