What’s the difference?
Difference between Inverter and non Inverter

• Inverter outdoor PCB is more complex.

Non inverter outdoor Inverter outdoor

Inverter VS Non-inverter
With inverter driven AC systems, cooling and heating can be adjusted freely in
accordance with the load in any given room by controlling the rotary speed of
compressors, while with non-inverter AC systems such adjustment is not possible
because the rotary speed of compressors is fixed by the power supply frequency.

The primary differences between inverter and non-inverter

Item A/C Systems of Non-inverter A/C Systems Inverter

1.Time to reach pre-set temp. Relatively long due to fixed capacity. Short because of increase capacity.

2. Fluctuations after reach pre- Major fluctuations due to start/stop Minor fluctuations due to load-
set temp. operations. adaptable operations
3. Sudden current flow when the 5 ~ 6 times rated value. 1.5 times rated value due to gradual
compressor is started frequency increase at the start.
4. Low temp. range during Decrease in capacity. Decrease in capacity compensated by
heating increased rotational speed.
5. Defrosting time Relatively long due to fixed capacity. Short due to maximum capacity
operations
6. Unit composition Relatively simple. Extra parts required.

7. Trouble diagnosis Relatively easy. Complicated.

Trouble shooting single zone
Caution
Do not forget to discharge the electrical power in the capacitors by connect a bulb
or resistance with 1500 ohm to 2000 ohm in the outdoor unit. Shutting down the
power supply will not be sufficient to discharge the capacitors of the PCB board.

R – T Conversion Table
Main Protection
• 1 Three Minutes Delay at restart for compressor.
• ---- 1min delay on the 1st start-up and 3 minutes delay after.
• 2 Temperature protection of compressor top.
• ---- Top temp. protector cut off for 30s and restart the compressor with 3 minutes
delay. (Hardware function) (120/105)
• 3 Temperature protection of compressor discharge.
• When the compressor discharge temp. is getting higher, the running frequency will be
limited as below rules:
• ----Compressor discharge temp. T5>115℃ for 5s, compressor stops.
• ---- 108<T5<115℃, decrease the frequency to the lower level every 3 minutes.
• ---90<T5<105℃, keep running as the current frequency.
• ----T5<90℃, cancel the frequency limit control or restart compressor
• 4 Inverter module Protection.
• ----Inverter module protection does have a protection function against current, voltage
and temperature. If these protections happened, the corresponding code will display
on indoor unit LED and A/C will stop. The unit will recover 3min delay after the
protection disappeared.
Main Protection
5 Indoor fan delayed open function
----When the system starts the louver will open and the indoor fan will operate 10s later.
----If the system runs in heating mode, the anti-cold wind function has priority.
6 Compressor preheating functions.
----Preheating permitting condition:
If the main relay closed, T4<3℃ and the machine is first power on and compressor
has stopped for over 3 hours.
----Preheating mode:
From the wiring terminal of the compressor, a weak current flows through the
compressor coil, the compressor is heated without functioning .
----Preheating release condition:
If T4>5℃ or user turns on the machine and compressor runs, preheating function will
stop.
---- Crankcase Heater
Single zone inverter, compressor stop and T4 < 3 ℃ active,>=8℃ inactive.
Multi-zone inverter, compressor stop and T4< 3 ℃ active,>=5℃ inactive.
