Using Google Meet for Virtual

Class and Meeting

Prepared By: Mr. Mark Anthony C. Sy

1. Sign In using your DepEd email
account.

2. Click the waffle button and select

Meet. Take note that this option is
used for you to conduct a virtual
session/ meeting.
3. Click New
meeting if you are
the host.

Another option is to
Enter a Code or
Nickname. This will
name your activity or
(Example) session. Click Join.
4. Prepare the needed materials before turning on
your camera. It is a good gesture if your turn off the
mic before clicking Join now to eliminate distracting
noise/ sound.
5. If you are ready, turn on your camera and
choose a desired background. It is highly
recommended to choose the Blur background.
6. Click the copy to clipboard and provide the URL
link to your participants.
7. When you project your screen, you will be
prompted with 3 options. It is highly recommended to
use A tab because it will include the audio in your
computer.
WARNING:
You cannot play your PowerPoint presentation in A
Tab because it only opens a window for browsers.

If you choose the Entire

Screen option, the
participants can only
view it, but the audio is
not included.
8. Click the Activities button
and you will be prompted with
Recording and Whiteboarding.

If you click Recording, the

session will be saved in the
Google Drive of the host.

If you click Whiteboarding, it

will open a Jamboard activity.
9. Make sure that you also familiarize yourself in using
the Raise hand button so that the host can address
your concern or question. Use it when needed only.
Click it again to hand-down.

Use CC if you wanted to have a subtitle while having

the Virtual meeting. Take note that this is not 100%
accurate. Make sure to click the End call button if the
session is done.
10. To easily check the attendance of participants.
It is highly recommended to download an extension
pack. Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for
Google Meet Attendance.
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions
11. Click Add to Chrome button and include it as
part of the extension pack. Click Add extension.
12. Once the extension is ready, it will be pinned in
your browsing tool.

Remember to click it before ending the session to

gather the attendance.

The attendance will give a downloaded file in MS Excel

format.
