6. TIE-IN LAYOUT

Three Tie-ins will be conducted in this project.

PWlineRTRP DN250 will connect with the existing DN700 PW line in VC – 16A

under contract number 138-C02R where is at the north of Road T-274 opposite lot 10.

and a VC will be constructed under this project at the other connection pointwhere is

at the intersection Road T-274 and Road T-301. At this location PW line RTRP

DN250 will connect with the main line DN1000.

SWWline RTRP DN150 which is dicharge pipe for LS-04 will connect with the

existing Manhole SWW 311-MH-06 which location is north of T-274 opposite lot 9.

The tie in detail and the location as follows:

6/ 14
7. PREPARATION& PLANNING

7.1. Permission Obtainment from Marafiq

As per Marfa requirements, the permit will be required while we start the performance

of tie-in for PW and SWW line. The performance will be conducted when the permit

is available. The necessary documents as listed below should be provided completely

or partly.

 One (1) set of Original white prints Drawings (Signed & Stamped) & Two (2)

copies.

 Softcopy of All Drawings (CDs) CAD & TIFF formats

 Softcopy of all the Project Facilities, Networks in accurate Geographic location

(Coordinates) for PW, SWW etc.

 Softcopy of Drawings list in Excel format (CD)

 Original (4) sets of O&M Manuals (Hard copies arranged in Box files)

7/ 14
 OriginalHydro test report/ Certificate (Soft & Hard Copy)

7.2. Sequence of Work

The proposed sequences of construction for tie-in are as follows:

For SWW line

7.2.1. Permission acquisition

7.2.2. Material especially pipe fittings preparation

7.2.3. Confirm a date with Marfa for the connection

7.2.4. Excavation

7.2.5. Connection with SWW311-MH-06

7.2.6. Testing (if required)

7.2.7. Backfill and restoration

The sequence of work for PW line is similar to SWW line, but the VC – 01 at

intersection Road T-274 and Road T-301 tie in will be precast at the location near the

DN1000 main pipeline.

7.3. Manpower Arrangement

When we start the work of tie in, One civil teamwhich is for precast of VC-01 will be

deployed, and two mechanical team will be deployed.

The manpower will be assigned as follows:

8. MATERIAL HANDLING, STROAGE AND TRANSPORTATION

8.1. Material for civil works i.e. rebar, timber, scaffolding tube will be transported

properly to the designated location.

8.2. RTRP pipe must be handled carefully to avoid any damage.

8.3. No other materials shall be loaded on the top of pipe products.

8.4. Pipe, fittings and prefabricated parts will be transported by the suitable trucks

8.5. Having flatbed floors.

8.6. Tie the products in place by using nylon or canvas sling belts while loading or

unloading.

8.7. Pipe ends and machined surfaces must be protected.

8.8. Standard pipe lengths shall be lifted at minimal two supporting points.

8.9. Protect internal parts against rust and corrosion while shipping of valve.

8.10. Set butterfly valves closed or slightly open while storing valve.

8.11. Use sling to handle butterfly valve and other accessary which will be

installed in VC-01. Rig to avoid damage to exposed parts.

9/ 14
8.12. Do not use hand wheels and stems of valve as lifting or rigging points.

9. PROCEDURE OF WORKS

As mentioned before, there are 3 tie-ins in the project. The sequence of construction is

as follows.

9.1. Construction for PW Line Tie-in at Intersection Road T-274 and Road T-30

9.1.1. Precast VC-01

The site will be make levelling for fabrication according to the requirements. The

valve chamber VC-01 will be precast on site.We plan to fabricate it dividing into

three portions. The first portion is for the base slab to the center of pipe where the

level is 5.60m, the second portion is from level 5.60m up to 7.30m which is the top of

top slab, and the third portion is for top slab. The fabrication sequencesare as shown

below. The detailed shop drawing will be issued before starting work.

The RC standard and ITP approved will be followed strictly when precast the valve

chamber.

9.1.2. Excavation and Lean Concrete Placement for VC-01

10/ 14
After finishing the fabrication of VC-01 and obtaining the permit form Marfa, we will

start excavation. As per the underground utilities information from Marfa and other

department, we will dig the soil using the excavator firstly, and excavating manually

while the activity is near the utilities.

The lean concrete will be placed when the FDT of subgrade is positive.

9.1.3. Installation of VC-01

The VC will be shifted to the correct position where the lean concrete has been cast.

The weight of first portion for the base slab will be 80T, and will be lifted by crane

150T hired from local market. And the second portion for the wall of VC will be 50T.

9.1.4. Installation of Pipe, MOV and Other Fittings

RTRP pipe and valves will be fixed after finishing installation of the precast VC.

RTRP pipe and valves installation will follow the related method statement and the

RC standard.

Construction for PW Tie-in near T-301

9.1.5. Waterproofing Membrane Installation, Backfilling and Compaction

The installation of waterproofing membrane for the external concrete wall will follow

the instruction from supplier and refer to the related civil work method statement.

Backfill shall not be placed until all items have been inspected by the

RoyalCommissionand approved for backfilling.

No backfill shall be placed until concrete has developed strength of notless than 15

MPa in compression as determined by test cylinders.

Backfill and compaction will be performed 30 cm per layer.

9.2. Construction for PW line tie-in at the north of Road T-274 opposite lot 10 and

11/ 14
SWW line tie-in detail at north of T-274 opposite lot 9

These connections will be similar to the tie-in at Intersection Road T-274 and Road

T-30. The soil excavation will be conducted and the pipesand valves installation will

installed gradually.

All mechanical and civil inspection will be performed as per ITPs approved by RC.

10. HSE RPROCEDURE

10.1. Prior to commencing any earthworks or excavation etc., the permit will be

obtained from the safety department.

10.2. Tool box meeting will be conducted by supervisor or foreman every morning,

andrefresh it after lunch break.

10.3. Where possible hazards may arise during installation activities, the necessary

10.4. Safety measures will be taken to prevent accident or injury at all times. This

may include barriers, warning tape/ net, signage, flagman, and proper lighting.

10.5. Keep flammable product away from spark or flame.

10.6. Provision of adequate cool drinking water, shade, and salt water tablets will be

inplace.

10.7. Ensure that all traffic management is set up correctly to comply with

localregulations.

10.8. During the lamination works, the technician will be prohibited strictly smoking.

10.9. Lifting plan will be prepared by competent person. And lifting plan for the load

10.10. The lifting plan will be prepared and submitted for RC review and approval

before performance because the precast VC will be more than 10 tons.

10.11. The contractor shall undertake all works in accordance with appropriate

12/ 14
Environmental requirements.
