Baskets Needed
The Week of the Young Child Committee is once again asking for your help. We would like to extend an invitation for parents to help create theme related gift baskets to be utilized as door prizes during the recognition banquet at the Valencia Ballroom. Theme suggestions include: spa, sweets, international foods, coffee, tea, gardening, games, puzzles and stationary. A sample parent letter that you can distribute will be available on the YAAEYC website in the Week of the Young Child section. Parents are asked to submit their contribution by March 25. Baskets can then be brought to the United Way or Children First Learning Center (215 St. Charles Way, York) by April 1st. Should you need to make arrangements to have your basket picked up, please contact Vickie Wooditch at CFLC, 741-5426 ext 21. Who knows, you or your staff just may be the recipient of one of these spectacular gifts. We thank you for your generosity and assistance in helping recognize and acknowledge the countless dedicated early childhood educators and care providers in York County!!

Networking Night
Did you ever wonder how other centers organized their block area, incorporated early learning standards into documentation, or displayed child work? Join us for YAAEYCs Third Annual Networking Night tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, April 27, 2011 to find out. Networking Night is a wonderful time to get to know other child care teachers and visit their centers. This year we will tour three centers, while having the opportunity to talk to teachers, tour the facilities, and get plenty of fresh ideas! We will have appetizers at one center, a main course at the next and dessert at the final location. This event is free to YAAEYC members and $10 for nonmembers. Look for more details during Week of the Young Child events and we hope to see you there! Page 9
