This document discusses a study on the effectiveness of modular distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic led to school closures worldwide and the transition to distance learning using self-learning kits (SLKs). The study aims to determine if modular distance learning is effective or not by identifying the benefits and disadvantages of the modular approach compared to traditional face-to-face classes. Specifically, it seeks to answer whether modular distance learning provides educational benefits as an alternative system and if it is better than in-person instruction.

Introduction: Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus that causes Covid-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneeze or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in air, and quickly fall on floors or surfaces. The Covid-19 pandemic has affected educational systems worldwide leading to near-total closures of schools, universities and colleges. Due to the pandemic, face to face classes are suspended to protect the teachers and the students and also to reduce the spread of the Covid- 19 virus. Students continued learning during this pandemic by modular distance learning where the teachers give their students an SLK (Self learning Kit) and they used it to study by themselves. This study is important to present the point of view in regard to the effectiveness of modular learning. Statement of the Problem: This study aims to determine if Modular Distance Learning: Effective or Not Effective. Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions: 1. What are the good benefits of modular distance learning as an alternative learning system? 2. What are the disadvantage of modular learning? 3. Is modular distance learning better than the usual face to face classes?
