Mini Task (35%)
Quadratic Functions Set B

To create an animated Google Slide presentation to be used for the tutoring project of the
GOAL
Xigma Club

You are a member of the Xigma club. You volunteered to create a Google Slide presentation that
ROLE
can be used during tutoring sessions.

AUDIENCE G10 students who availed of peer tutoring sessions

One of the projects of the Xigma Club is to adopt a partner school and help the students there
SITUATION with after-school tutoring. They are currently learning applications on Quadratic Functions and
you volunteered to make a Google Slides presentation for them.

PRODUCT You are tasked to make an animated Google Slides presentation, individually, during the
Math period. The presentation will include the following components:

1. Overlay of the Graph - Using the photo of a parabolic structure assigned to you, show how
to construct an algebraic model (Quadratic Function) that will represent that particular
structure. Overlay a Cartesian Plane on the photo of your assigned structure to identify the
quadratic function representing the structure. Label parts of the graph.
2. Eight Key Features of the Graph
a) Concavity
b) Width compared to parent function
c) Vertex
d) Axis of Symmetry
e) Domain
f) Range
g) Number of x-intercepts
h) y-intercept
3. Word Problem with Solution and Final Answer - Construct a timely/relevant word problem
using the structure assigned to you and the Quadratic Function that you made. Show how to
solve the problem in detail.
4. Appropriate transitions, animation, and other effects that may enhance the presentation.
5. The last slide of your Google slide presentation is your honor pledge and self-rating.

This will be submitted via Google Assignments on Schoology Math Course.

STANDARD See attached rubric.

Width: 552 feet
Location: Chongqing, China
Trivia: The Chaotianmen Bridge is built across the Yangtze River, Chongqing, China. Double-level traffic ar-rangement is
adopted with the upper deck to be designed in two-way 6 lanes and both side pedestrian lanes, with lower deck in middle
two-way municipal light rails and 2 two-way lanes on each side. It is the longest arch bridge in the world.
