Agricultural Value Chain


This lesson is all about the agricultural value chain. A value chain is used to describe all
the business activities it takes to create a product from start to finish.

TOMATO POWDER VALUE CHAIN

The importance of the value chain is to visualize the flow of the product from
production to end-users. It is simply a way of understanding producing, buying, and
selling products. Input suppliers are the manufacturers of agricultural inputs such as
seeds, fertilizers, water, etc. it is required for the production of raw tomatoes. After
harvesting it proceeds to processing, packaging, storing, and transport or direct selling
to the consumers or end-user such as household and institutional consumers like hotels
and restaurants.
