Clean-ups are intended to be fun activities that encourage citizens to
take better care of their community areas on a regular basis. Cleaning up
garbage and refuse promotes community-based environmental action for a
cleaner and healthier world. A community cleanup brings together
volunteers to clean, weed, segregate, and remove trash from the street.
Cleaning the streets is one of the barangay's cleanup projects. Cleaning
removes germs as well as dirt and dust, resulting in improved indoor air
quality and a fresh scent. Canals and streets, in particular, require special
attention because they are among the germiest areas in any barangay.
Maintaining a clean environment reduces pollution, protects endangered
species, and aids in the preservation of biodiversity.

II. NARRATIVE REPORT

Community Service: A Clean-up Drive Project in collaboration with the

barangay captain Ricardo R. Antonio,4P's members, and volunteers from various
agencies. The clean up drive began on May 28,2022, Saturday morning by
cleaning the grounds, streets, and canals. Visitors should be aware that residents
take pride in their neighborhood's appearance because it is well maintained. It
should not appear that no one cares about or lives there.
Establishing a routine sweeping and weeding schedule in the community on
the next Saturday in June will help remove wearing debris and extend the life of
paved roads and paths. Street sweeping reduces the amount of plastics and litter
that end up on the sides of roads, harming local wildlife. At the same time, more
mosquitos and flies that transmit illness are prevented.
On the month of July, 2022, unnecessary garbage in the street was removed
by segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste materials in the
street. Segregation at the source is critical to its recycling and disposal. Proper
waste disposal improves air and water quality while also lowering greenhouse
gas emissions. It aids in reducing resource extraction as well as pollution and
energy consumption associated with the production of new materials. After
three months of cleaning up, the project resulted in environmentally friendly
practices to meet the needs of their residents, which became known as green
barangay.
