Virtual face-to-face training given by a trainer

(in English, Virtual instructor-led classroom training or VILT)

The VILT puts a modern twist on traditional learning by moving the classroom online. VILT
software enables trainers to deliver lessons, show videos, run small group sessions, host
discussions and monitor student performance. Virtual sessions can be recorded and accessed
for later review.

Advantage

Eliminates the need for a classroom space

It is based on a family learning experience

Allows participants to learn regardless of where they are

Supports many types of activities

Can be recorded for later review

less expensive over time

Disadvantages

Users may feel disconnected

Requires familiarity with technology

Requires a reliable high-speed Internet connection

Technical glitches can expel students

Trainers may need to upgrade their skills

The initial costs to create this formation are higher

3. Online learning

Online learning has become the "new standard" for staff training. Between 2002 and 2018,
corporate use of online learning grew by 900%. The term “online learning” can include many
learning products, including e-learning or micro-learning modules, games, quizzes, learning
activities, videos, and discussion forums.

Support materials, such as work guides and learning documents, can be saved in .pdf format to
create digital content that is accessible to all students.

Advantage
Scalable and globally accessible

Standardizes a common learning experience for all participants

Can be used by an unlimited number of students

Students can access content at the time they need it

Learning method preferred by many young professionals

Disadvantages

Developing it may take longer than in the case of VILT

May require instructional design to improve technology and content development process

Internet connection may affect access to content

No face to face interaction

Can intimidate students who do not know how to use new technologies

4. B-learning

A b-learning (blended or blended learning) approach combines classroom training and online
learning into a single curriculum. Combining these two methods can create a learning
experience that includes the best of each method.

Advantage

Scalable and globally accessible

More opportunities for the student to collaborate and participate

Greater accessibility to learning

Participants have flexibility to complete tasks

Can increase the participation and interest of many students

Disadvantages

Requires a strong technology infrastructure

Can intimidate students who do not know how to use new technologies

Trainers and instructional designers may need to upgrade their skills

Less motivated students may find it difficult to complete the work without the help of a trainer

Why choose online training

If all your classes are still taught by a trainer or you're just interested in staff training, it's time
to move to online learning. We have already mentioned some of the advantages of e-learning.
But the main reason why you should opt for online learning is that it is simply more effective.
Here are some proofs of this:

Reasons to choose online training

How to start offering online training

The first thing you should do is establish your general learning needs and expectations,
determine the objectives of the training, and identify your audience. For this, it is a good idea
to ask some questions that will be the basis of what is called the training needs analysis. For a
list of questions, read our article on how to build a successful training program.
